"Mayonaka Yuuenchi" (Midnight Amusement Park) Lyrics by Takahashi Kumiko Translation by Anna P
I took out my contacts and cleaned them off... This is reality Today, I'm getting used to this scenery, though I'm becoming very uneasy. I crawled out of my warm futon and opened the door. Neon sparkled from a rainbow-colored merry-go-round.
I took out my contacts and cleaned them off... This is reality Today, I'm getting used to this scenery, though I'm becoming very uneasy. I crawled out of my warm futon and opened the door. Neon sparkled from a rainbow-colored merry-go-round.
The roller coaster kept on running. In front of the headlights, there is a crooked rail. Rising and falling, my chest throbs violently. The roller coaster won't stop anymore. In front of the headlights, there is a crooked curve, In such a way so that I don't fall off, so that I don't fall off. [1]*
If Orion's dots were linked together, The insufficient stars would be a planetarium. I get on the pretty horse, I want to go round and round. [2]* I get on the pretty horse, I want to go round and round.
The roller coaster kept on running. The headlights pierce through the darkness. Rising and falling, my chest throbs violently. So, for awhile, the days won't stop. I clung to my seatbelt In such a way so that I don't fall off, so that I don't fall off.
Where are you going beyond here? What is the truth? "Happiness is when you extend your hands and embrace me".
Where are you going beyond here? What are you searching for? "Happiness is when you extend your hands and embrace me".
========
[1]* = This kind of confusing and really hard to word in English, but it's kind of saying that there's a curve coming up on the roller coaster, but it (the curve) isn't so violet to the point where you'll be thrown off the coaster. lol.
[2]* = In case you didn't know, the "pretty horse" is a horse on a merry-go-round.
And the last two stanzas confused me, so I don't know if I interpreted them correctly. They don't really fit in context with the rest of the song. I'm not sure if someone is saying the entire stanza or just the last line of it, because there's a "to iu" at the end of it. And I'm not sure who that "someone" is, whether it be the speaker or the person talking to the speaker.
