So, let's get ready to take a peek into the lives of our beloved chatmonchy! xD

------------------------------------------------------
Staff Journal Entry 1.29.2007

They departed from Tokushima and moved to Tokyo. It's been about a year, but they got quite used to it by now.

I am challenging chatmonchy to record and get their music out in Tokyo! Please wait just a little bit for the new compositions to be released. They are excited to record soon.

Those are the sunglasses that the dancers were using for the "shangri-la" music video. Is this the same pose that the 3 of them made?

Eriko discovers a large trout sushi! When I went to the promotion scene, the staff took the trouble to prepare food and drinks. It was very thoughtful. Thank you staff members!

Although Tokyo's cherry blossom trees are in full bloom, chatmonchy were rehearsing in "full bloom mode". Not until after such a long live performance, was it pleasureable to see.

Today, I launched it. If you see the face of a girl with fluorescent color in the store, please take a look. And I decide to make it large. Please try to listen to it with high volume. I strongly request it.

Thanks for making this thread Roxy

Here`s a translation of the latest diary entry from http://playlog.jp/chatmonchy/blog/

Be be be bento [Takahashi Kumiko]

In the middle of the Spring-Live event.

This is certainly different from the open-air summer-fes so we have to consider the songs we do and the order we perform them in.
Also, for each different event we have a unique arrangement so the impression of the songs are stil fresh!

Each time we have a discussion among ourselves or observe other bands and learn from them so these new arrangements change naturally.

Next up is the Bent (http://www.chatmonchy.com/live/index.html) sponsored event on the 22nd.
It`ll be exciting to see what sort of stage it`ll be.
There`re apparently tickets still left~
C`mon☆

English below:

Cha-tomo (茶 is tea in kanji, another one of Akko`s sly puns tongue.gif)

Today we went to label-mate Plingmin`s (http://www.plingmin.jp/) first record Live. The drummer, Cathy asked that we be tea drinking buddies so ofcourse i said ok~.
Doesn`t tea-drinking buddy have a good ring to it.
Our Eriko insists that Pliming came up with their band name because they like purin and gumi, so eventually I`d like to make clear the truth of the sitution.

Akko.

NB:
Purin is written as プリン. The english equivalent is pudding but purin is a non-savoury desert. (recipie for purin http://www.purin-kibun.com/)
Gumi is soft chewy candy, kind of like gummy bears. Gumi is written as グミ.
Eriko made this funny statement because Plingmin is written as プリングミン and contains both gumi and purin in it LOL

The truth about Plingmin.

I just did a little searching and discovered it`s true!! Plingmin really did name themselves that because they love purin and gumi!
Ecchan was correct! Yaaay~
Also, it was Kari and not Carry. Sorry--!
The picture is from when we were shooting for the jacket/cover picture and found a Flat-Eric kun in a field.

"doesn't tea-drinking buddy have a good ring to it?"

YEAH!

i wanna be akko-chan's tea drinking buddy too! and also be kumikon's star gazing buddy and ecchan's toe sock buddy. lol.

hmm, i presume that is a sneak peak of the jacket/cover picture for the new single? there's like a 'laugh away' spring feel to it x)

(title)The wind blew!

Today was filming for a music video at Zepp Tokyo.

From about 50,000 applicants, approximatly 1500 were selected.
Have they used-up all their luck for this year?
I`m quite worried.

However, filming went really well. It`s all thanks to our participants. Seriously.
The ill feeling of the audience, from the heat of the live house, exiting, was apparnelty captured on video properly.

This time, the reason we chose to make this sort of video was because we wanted to introduce, as much as we could, the atmosphere of being at a Chatto` live to those who haven`t been to one; that`s why the 3 of us came-up with this idea.

So we`re very grateful that the live-atmosphere was reflected so accuratly. Thank you!

Everyone who came today, try not to catch a cold, take it easy and have some rest alright.
I`m going to take it easy too.

Akko

Thanks modnar!
So we are expecting scenes from a live concert for the new music video? (Kaze Fukeba Koi?)
Sounds pretty cool. Looking forward!

yup, that's right
from their description it sounds like a scene from a live-house as opposed to a concert hall.

Title; The accuracy of a drummer [Takahashi Kumiko]

If I talk it's going to become long but anyhow.

Today I went to see a movie.
It was an Isaka Koutaro film called "The accuracy of a Death God".
Kinjo Takeshi, who plays the part of the Death god/shinigami, loves music and no matter what kind of crisis situation he is in he's listening to music; And seemingly really enjoyably too.
He says things like " Music is good. Music is the greatest cultural invention of humans".

That was really striking; that even the ghastly Death Gods think that.
That made me realize how beautiful music is, of course Iknew that before too, but for the first time it gave me a different perspective on enjoying music and with that spirit I headed towards HMV.
Just like the Shinigami I listened to what I liked, without contemplating, just what I liked, and bought heaps.

Today won't end just yet...
On the way home an African-American man was playing the drums, near the Sakura-Ya in Shibuya. It was really awesome/cool too. I mean the guy didn't even have a bass drum, his tomtom's and cymbols were in tatters, so the sound was shocking but he looked to be having a great time and was funky too ! I danced a little too (haha)
So that's what makes an awesome drummer (not the bit about kumiko dancing although that's an added bonus hehe)
From the bottom of my heart I was in reverence.

I'd challenged myself to a day without a cellphone so regrettably I couldn't take any photos. I realised that the human invention of the cellphone is an amazing piece of culture too.
Living without a cellphone for a day was alright but I'd imagine I'd eventually get told off by someone for doing that.

So, well it turned out quite long but this was a very stimulating one-day for me. Goodnight ☆

Kumikon.

sounds alright to me, I might give it a check when it comes out on dvd next time smile.gif

This by the way, is a pen.

However, the brand new pen wouldn't fit in the pencil case, with the head protruding out.

Just the face...
It was a bit of a horror.
