Title; The accuracy of a drummer [Takahashi Kumiko]
If I talk it's going to become long but anyhow.
Today I went to see a movie.
It was an Isaka Koutaro film called "The accuracy of a Death God".
Kinjo Takeshi, who plays the part of the Death god/shinigami, loves music and no matter what kind of crisis situation he is in he's listening to music; And seemingly really enjoyably too.
He says things like " Music is good. Music is the greatest cultural invention of humans".
That was really striking; that even the ghastly Death Gods think that.
That made me realize how beautiful music is, of course Iknew that before too, but for the first time it gave me a different perspective on enjoying music and with that spirit I headed towards HMV.
Just like the Shinigami I listened to what I liked, without contemplating, just what I liked, and bought heaps.
Today won't end just yet...
On the way home an African-American man was playing the drums, near the Sakura-Ya in Shibuya. It was really awesome/cool too. I mean the guy didn't even have a bass drum, his tomtom's and cymbols were in tatters, so the sound was shocking but he looked to be having a great time and was funky too ! I danced a little too (haha)
So that's what makes an awesome drummer (not the bit about kumiko dancing although that's an added bonus hehe)
From the bottom of my heart I was in reverence.
I'd challenged myself to a day without a cellphone so regrettably I couldn't take any photos. I realised that the human invention of the cellphone is an amazing piece of culture too.
Living without a cellphone for a day was alright but I'd imagine I'd eventually get told off by someone for doing that.
So, well it turned out quite long but this was a very stimulating one-day for me. Goodnight ☆
Kumikon.
