Base Ball Bear, or "BeBoBe" (BBB), is a fresh, young, and rising band that delivers great vocals and catchy riffs! ..As some of you know, BBB collaborated with our beloved chatmonchy in a past Nyaku Nyaku tour..
What's there to say... The roof exploded with so much intensity! In short, this band is awesome!
| CODE | Figuring out Japanese band nomenclature can be frustrating, and Base Ball Bear is a case in point. It seems that the bands four members really liked a song by Japanese female singer Chocolat called Baseball and E. Presley, so they decided to use baseball as part of the bands name. The bear part has no special meaning. You figure it out. BBB comprises guitarist/vocalist Yusuke Koide, whos from Atsugi, in Kanagawa Prefecture; bassist Shiori Sekine the only female member of the band whos from Saitama City in Saitama Prefecture; guitarist Shohei Yuasa, another Atsugi native, and drummer Daisuke Horinouchi, whos from Tokyo. They met while they were in high school, specifically when Koide decided to organize a band to play at a school festival. They kept at it, and then sent a demo tape to Toshiba-EMI talent scout Keitaro Kamo, whose other musical discoveries include Number Girl, Super Butter Dog and Kishidan. Kamo liked what he heard and mentored the band preparatory to their recent signing to Toshiba-EMI. This is a young band - none of the members of Base Ball Bear is older than 20. Almost as soon as the band got together, Base Ball Bear started releasing self-distributed tapes and CD-Rs of their music. Their first official release was the mini-album Yugata Generation (Evening Generation) in November 2003. Base Ball Bears early demos were very amateurish, although it was obvious tell they had a lot of originality and potential. The bands more recent material is much tighter and extremely well-performed, combining a strong power-pop sense with a sometimes harsh, angular sound that recalls Gang of Four.

This of course was taken from their Myspace Music Page...So yea...they're just a totally unique, "different sounding", band! I guess due to the fact that the bassist, Shiori Sekine, often sings chorus for Yusuke (front man of BBB), and sometimes sing duets together! Hmm, at first, they kinda reminds me of an early "Supercar".. *ahem* before supercar went electronica and what not.. (Still, I love 'em too!) Haha, Kreva is too laid back. I liked some Kick the Can Crew, but his solo stuff is too lazy.
That song was also done in the Go For The Sun Tour featuring Analog Fish, Fujifabric, and Sparta Locals(all great bands). All of them went out on stage but they were lacking some serious funk except for Sparta Locals frontman Abe. I had the video favorited on YouTube, but it seems like it was taken down.
Base Ball Bear, chatmonchy, and Snowkel's rendition is much better, though. I mean you got Koide MCing like a fiend and Ecchan going "nyaku nyaku."
I really wanna see the song they performed for the 2007 Nyaku Nyaku tour, Choo Coo Train! Haha. Better than konya wa boogie back, imo.

BBB's been all over the place with their songs, but i hope they reach greatness soon :D am a sucker for Electric Summer and Dakishimetai. Still the only band that i've seen live in Japan Was at a Hiroshima show this spring when i was on holiday there. I must say they were much better live that i ever expected And sekine-chan is just so edible!

Whoaaa, nice pic with Ecchan ^^ BTW: The four-member band Base Ball Bear has finally made it to the Nippon Budokan. On January 3, 2010, they will perform their first concert at that venue. Nice~ Hope they release their first live DVD with that performance I love Budokan
