The suprisingly short prologue to my new story, The Forgotten Hero. I'd appreciate some help with names though. I'll say more about that when you've read it.

I was there. I believe myself to be the only person who can say that truthfully. I was there. From the beginning, as it were, to the end.
It is not, by any means, that I played an important part in the events as they transpired. I was merely a figure in the background, a shadow of the main players. Were the story to be portrayed as a play, I would be the narrator, as the tragedy slowly revealed itself to me, and yet I did nothing to stop it. I sometimes wonder in my darker moments if, had I been braver, I could have made a difference.
The saddest part of this tale concerns the hero. His words are remembered long after his death. Children can quote entire speeches he made before they can write. His actions have influenced generations to greater heights, and they shall continue to do so for generations yet to come.
And yet, he himself is forgotten, out-shadowed by his own greatness. We all know what he did, and yet do any even remember his name? Could any recognise his picture? None but I, and it is this knowledge that gives me such standing. I shall tell a tale not about good versus evil, but about one man’s struggle to protect what was right in the world.
I shall tell his story.

Because I'm not used to doing modern day, I'll need some help with a normal yet awesome name for the hero. He's a politician, so it can't be too cool, but he's also quite a powerful character; Nice and moral but firm and idealistic. Also, it's about a struggle for equal rights, but I don't want it to be black rights, I want something original, so could you guys think of decent names for 2 religions?
Thanks.

Hm, nice opening. Gimme a sec to think on the names.

The hero... normal... I hate normal names... they're just so damn hard to work with... Hm... Robert? Darren? Luke?
And as for made-up religions... Lisandrism? Kitloanity? Vinism?
