Cloning is a very hit-and-miss area of science, much like all genetic engineering. However, some think it's neccessary, if not for medical advancements then simply for the sake of scientific curiosity.
My question is this: What are, if any, the practical uses of cloning? I mean to say, imagine we manage to perfectly clone a human being. So what? How would that help besides having a bunch of Agent 47s running and fiber-wiring about the place? |

It depends at what level you look at it really. I mean, cloning an entire animal does seem kinda silly and pointless, however, cloning things like certain organs or other parts of the body could be a great help for anyone in need of a transplant of any kind. I mean, there's commonly a huge waiting list for organ transplants, and being able to clone organs would be a great help in this field.
Mind you, when it all comes down to it in the end, cloning will probably just end up being one country or anothers new plan to create the worlds biggest army and kill a bunch of people. That's pretty much what things seem to come down to today. "Are you sure putting this together is safe?" "Not in any way, but if we find that it explodes when we put this and this together, it can create a bomb!" "Yay for violence!" "Yay!" |

Ah, but we already have the knowledge of how to grow an organ or body part from a small amount of cells which don't even have to be taken from featusus (Or featii, I'm not sure) so absolutely nothing dies. It's very similar to cloning but there are some differences that I don't quite get.
... I saw a program on it, ok? |
