Some may say that the forbidden forest was scary, or at least that was the rumor going around. Derrick wasn't so sure that this was really true, because it wasn't like too many things scared him, mostly because he could handle himself alone, and didn't exactly need protection from things that were twice his size. The day that Derrick decided to wander around by himself was the day his mind decided it wanted him to wander into the forest. it was a nice place to walk, in his eyes it was rather beautiful, even though it was slightly dark. He stuffed his hands into the pockets of his jacket as he stepped his way through the forest, even the obstacles in his way not seeming to disrupt his smooth fluid steps. He let his bright blue eyes wander from tree to tree, looking at creatures that might be roaming around the forest.

Nah, this wasn't that scary. Derrick smiled to himself as he looked at the ground, where his feet hit one by one sticks crunching under his weight and various sounds echoing throughout the vast green blanketed area. There had to be something about this place that really was frightening, not that he really thought too much about it. He folded his arms in front of him as he walked, going on as casually as a person would walk through the park, to him this was just one big park that you went through on a nice day and had some fun. Derrick did look weak at first sight, but once you got into it with him he would be able to tear people apart, which was why he was not worried about things getting to him.

It was simple and fluid. A dance of sorts, really. Or so he saw it. With his clothes tied to his tail, her waved around trees, leaping over obstacles and burning a trail of prints, tongue lolling from a gaping jaw, of only content. Power rushed through his limbs, sizzling his blood alight with the ailment and giving him strength to hurl his body onward, bones gyrating against each other with every sharp turn. His body bent in ways a true wolf couldn't preform, but then again, he was not a true wolf. Born a breed, yes, but not a full real one nor a full false one. He ducked low, uprooting himself from beneath a arched tree root and bounding up the hill, pushing against the weight of the world that wanted him to fall backwards.

But hark, there it lay. He stopped, ears bent to the wind and his nose ripe to the scent. His fur mocked the way his bones rigged still, eyes circling with utter passion for the truth. Nothing the eye could see yet, but his nose had the sharpest scent of foul water. A sea beast. He growled, a glutteral low sound in the depths of his larynx, before a push against his body weight sent him catapulting. Claws marked at the bark of trees as he lept from morsel to morsel, much in the form of a cat though his breed was no place close to the vile stench of one. He just knew their clever ways. His paws slipped, their grip lacking without the aid of claws, and he nestled upon a sturdy branch, peering down into a small clearing. The sun hid it's face that day, a weary and damp sullen, which proved to be on his side and advantage. His shadow would not be reflected into the ground, and he could find this thing and put an end to it's life.

Yet where was it?

It wasn't really the best day to be out taking a walk, the fact that it was slightly chilly and the sun wasn't out made the forest seem a little bit more intimidating. Derrick's senses were up to the challenge though. Since the sea was near by it was easy for Derrick to use his "powers" of sorts, he had heightened senses when he was near the sea, the expression of the sea knows all, is not that far off. He could also use water to his advantage in many different aspects, but he likes people to find that out on his own since, his abilities are supposed to be somewhat of a secret to people outside of his Siren family. Derrick continued to trek the forest, kicking up some of the sticks he crossed by. He thought about Armand, wondering what he was up to at the moment, maybe he should have asked if he wanted to tag along? Nah, that probably would not have been a good idea, since he wasn't as well equipped for a trip like this as Derrick was.

A feeling went through Derrick, as his head suddenly jerked up. He sensed someone near, and it wasn't a normal human. From what he could tell it seemed to be a wolf of some sort, maybe a werewolf. He narrowed his eyes as they suddenly went from glowing blue to an evil dark blue color. He continued to walk, keeping this in his mind as he went on, hopefully being ready for whatever seemed to be on his trail at the moment. One of his hands brushed a plant next to him and it suddenly turned to water. When his eyes were in this state his powers were more activated per say, but it did not work on people unless he really wanted to use them. He looked around a little bit, something was definitely close, and he was ready.

And there it was. Fletcher panted, the motion lacking a sound with his stealth. The scent of the foul water was strong near the blonde-appealed human beneath, forcing him to choose the difficult task of breathing through his mouth. Most canines were incapable of this, but need reminded, he was no normal wolf. Perched, he let the moments drift as he observed, ignorant to enchantments conjured. He would have to be wary of this one, since his power was not at view but Fletcher knew well that it lay in wake. He was far too old to not be wise of this. He stood, wobbling for balance on the branch, before leaping to another. A blind risk. His claws extended and caught the edge of it, and he quickly clawed his way onto it to avoid the breaking of a claw. That wouldn't prove healthy for his body in the end. The fall would surely break unhealable things.

He turned, and from this angle, was closer to the form enough for an attack. But what fun was that? He had always been taught to play with his food. He gave a low chuckle, allowing his existance be known. He had a fair guess the morsel knew of his presence. He was just reinforcing it. No other sound quaked from his powerful lungs. They wouldn't until the last moment when a guard was dropped. He lept to the ground, and stalked around to the back of the lad, and with inhuman speed, a blur to any eye, he lashed out, claws and teeth finding a mark of skin. Nothing penetrating yet. His weight knocked everything off balance, and he hovered above the creature with wry, paws holding down arms at the wrists. The man's eyes were a brilliant depth of blue, but he knew what it meant.

What business have you here? He snarled, teeth exposed beneath a curled lip, gums sheened with saliva.

Derrick could now tell what exactly was watching him, as well as following him. He wasn't really that worried to be honest, there wasn't a werewolf that could eat him for a meal, or kill his for that fact. He smirked to himself as he continued to walk through the forest. He pretty much knew exactly what the wolf was going to do, but he wasn't going to let it know that. He went along innocently. He laughed to himself as he sensed the wolf on the branch, barely having his balance. Wolves never did have the finesse they thought they did. Derrick couldn't stop himself from smiling in amusement. Derrick let his hand run across more of the plants that lay beside him, all turning to water in his wake, as if he was running his hand through a body of water. He waited for the wolf to make his moves.

Derrick heard the low chuckle from the wolf, he smiled himself as he walked a little slower now. He heard the wolf jump to the ground, even though the furred creature had stealth he still wasn't all that invisible. He felt the lash of the wolf, and then he was on the ground pinned down. He stared back up into the face of the wolf. He began to laugh, amused by the wolf that was staring him in the face. "You got me...Although I must say.. You could have been a little less subtle about it, a mermaid would hear you coming from a mile away..." He said in a rather cold and slightly amused voice. As he stared up at the wolf, his eyes continually went from the lighter blue to the deep dark, depths of the ocean blue. This color usually meant he was angry or just on the defensive, but he knew the wolf didn't know that. How could he?

"Just taking a harmless walk through the woods, can't a Siren enjoy himself on a day like today?" He said in a voice as smooth as glass with a icy tone underlying in its depths.

Fletcher lashed his tail, his undamaged eye a darker shade than it had been earlier when he had been content. Granted, he couldn't decipher the origin of his current emotion, but old age and wise thought proved it to be unpleasant. A lift of his lips revealed glistening, surprisingly white teeth that caught the dimmed light, exuding their point of powerful own. His ear flicked to the narration of the lad's words, but no irritation bled through. He could put up with the disregards of a petty fool. It would only earn their death in the future, regardless of their habits possessed. He finally gave a great snort, particles drifing in the air, shown by a beam of light that peered through cleverly cracked branches. The lighter portion of his fur glowed with the catch of it.

I didn't ask for a report of my skills. There was no point in trying to be quiet in the presence of a forest, with my size, your hearing, and the opportunity of too many objects to fall beneath my weight. The only point in my stalk was to observe you, whether you were aware of it or not.

His jowls did not move in his speech, eyes direct and locked with fevor to the Siren's. The water-logged scent of marsh was stronger, being so present with the young man, and it stung the fine hairs coating the internal of his nose. He paid no heed and increased the weight he used to bade the kid down. He was wary of the shaded color to the creature's eye, his experiance vast with these beats. Sorcen was one of the better kind he had encountered.

Unfortunate for you, this forest is offbounds to the guests and even slaves. Anything that walks the roots and moss here are bound to become my prey. Their lives fall at my hand, and it is up to I to decide their following fate. He flickered his gaze over the young face, his jaw parting to pant acrid scent into the boy's face. Perhaps you bargain your way out with the right words. I show mercy where it deserves.
