Often things in the dark feel like they're about to come out and hunt you down, or are watching every movement that you make. For some people this is just a belief, something that doesn't truly exist, a mere trail of thought. But there are groups of people out that that know better, whether they have been the ones put to the pains of this new force, or those who are sworn against them, and ready to do all they can to prevent it from getting stronger. And one day, people are going to be forced into believing. But right now, the only thing that is needed is for someone, or for some people, to try and combat these forces.

On a seemingly quiet evening, two brothers - one not even a year old, but just six months,, the other five years old - were enjoying their normal daily lives. For the youngest, he was being looked after by his mother, being fed his food, and getting lifted up into the air by his father. Sometimes his older brother would join in, making faces to try and cheer him up, or gently fighting with him. As they were put to bed, things changed. The mother, Mary, was getting ready for bed as her husband sorted the children out. The last thing she heard of her family life was him playing with her youngest child, trying to tempt him into sleep.
That night, things happened that couldn't be explained by the cops, things that just didn't seem to fit. Of course, the only person who knew the truth was the widowed husband, but no one would ever believe his tale. At the time of the incident, he had just come out of his son's room to find a bright, orange, light from his room. Running in, he saw his wife being lifted up to the ceiling, before disappearing in a fireball of flames and anger. A demon had awoken. Sensing chaos could soon ensue, he told his oldest son, Dean, to take Sam and get to safety. Dean did so, but was confused by his dad's sudden scared tone. When he looked back, he saw a light in the window suddenly turn from orange into blue, before disappearing altogether. All he heard was his father's scream of anxiety.
That night, their father swore to avenge his wife's death, and he wasn't alone. Others had been struck by a similar event, whether in this year or a year before or after. The fight had begun, though it was a far cry from being in full swing.

Now aged twenty-five and twenty-nine respectively, Sam nd Dean Winchester have created their own lives; or so they thought. Whilst Sam is preparing for an interview to get into a university, Dean shows up on his doorstep, telling him that their father has now gone 'hunting'. Knowing this term as what it truly means, Dean convinces Sam to come along with him to try and find their father. Yet this only leads into another job; getting rid of the various demons that they encounter. As a result, they are brought together, trying to fight these demons with the help of their father's journal. Thing is, they thought they were alone.

A year later, six other people are out in the world, doing the same job as Sam and Dean, believing that they were the only ones doing this. Some were walking alone, whilst others were drawn together to work in a partnership. Suddenly their paths are thrown together, in the course of which they run into the Winchesters. Surprised by the fact that they are part of a team of eight people who are trying to fight the demons, they agree to form an alliance, setting a deathly force against these demons.
In New York, the team have set up a base camp, of sorts, where they are discussing their ideas and plans for what will eventually happen. Yet things are not calm, and there are already demons walking the cities, causing the team to have to split up and defeat them. They are also leading their own lives, and attempting to live within New York so that they can live up to their motto - to seize the day, or as they say, Carpe Diem.
Things are about to get to a whole new level, with demons unafraid to let their true colours and forms show through. And the eight demon hunters aren't about to back down. What can only ensue is a bloodbath, and a fight to the death. But whose deaths will it be?
