Rules in bold are newly added.
- Read the rules! It counts XD
- This board is rated R. Because of the nature of the plot, violence and scenes of a mature nature are not going to be easily avoided. If you cannot stomach such things, do not sign up.
- Please register with both a first name and a surname, and ensure that everything is properly capitalised. You do not need to register with middle names, but you may do so if you want to (unless your character has a ridiculously long name, in which case, I trust you won't plaster Lord Smelliton Welliton John James Marcus Paul Audrey Philip Antony Ann-Marie Jaunty-Wellington The Nineteeth all over the boards).
- Do not post anywhere until your character application has been accepted. The only exception to his rule is the Model Claim thread, which I will allow uncatagorised members to post in so that you do not lose the model you want. You must have posted your application beforehand, though, not the other way around.
- Treat others as you should wish to be treated. I will not stand for and verbal abuse directed towards any of the members here and I do not expect petty arguments. We're all mature people.
- You must not advertise anywhere other than in the Advertising board, which is your personal advertising haven. This means no links in your signatures, and certainly no advertisements over the Private Messaging system.
- Please, don't spam. Make sure everything you post actually has a point to it.
- Try to ignore Kin when she starts talking about Pete Wentz. We've tried everything but she won't shut up. You'll also find that she has gate crashed the rules with Pete Wentz comments. Ignore those too
- Signature graphics must be no larger that 250x500. Some of us have small screen resolutions. And on the topic of graphics, any that you use here must be used with the permission of the artist.
- Please use tasteful pictures in our graphics. Advertisements give us all our daily share of half nekkid people. Kirrick is an exception because why would you not want to see more of Pete Wentz? (:
- If you decide to offer your graphics making services here, you have absolute control over how your work can be used, i.e. you can specify whether or not your image may be used on another forum or not. Of course I trust you not to make stupid conditions like, 'This graphic can only be used for 0.43535533 of a second' (:
- Please, only join if you are interested in being active and a roleplaying member. Anyone who simply joins to be a 'ghost member', or just to advertise their own site will be removed from the system. Why have a large member number if no one is online?
CHARACTER RULES.- Really guys; when applying, be as imaginative as you like! There's plenty of opportunities here and I am not going to shoot you down for being creative. Get yourself out there!
- I don't think you'll need reminding, but remember that everyone has flaws, despite how much they wish they didn't, so let's not have any of these 'Mary Sue' characters. Not everybody is going to love you upon seeing you driving down the street in the most expensive car on the planet, with your amazingly perfect looks and flawless personality. Try to create real, believable personalities for your characters and give them some depth. The more rounded and deep your application is, the more my reading glasses will love you.
- You must create a new account for every different character you play.
- You may play as many characters as you wish, but do not apply for another if you do not have the time to roleplay them actively. Although I have my uses for inactive characters, I do not like to see them just dissapear off the face of the earth, particularly if you have lined plots up with other members.
- For the love of all that is holy,
never take a canon character if you are not going to be active. I will personally hit you with one of those squeaky blow up hammers.
- Don't be afraid to leap into the plot! This point sort of links to the first one, but I say it's different, so it's all gravy. I love to see people really getting their brains into gear. It makes me all fuzzy inside. So go ahead. Make me all fuzzy.
- When creating a character, you do not have to fill up everything about that character! Feel free to expand on the application as you begin to roleplay; I know I will.ROLEPLAYING RULES.- I'd like to say that this is a literate roleplay forum, therefore, we'll be having no one liner wonders leaping from your keyboards. I'll be expecting at least two paragraphs of quality writing everytime you post.
- The word
quality was important in there too. Hopefully if you're even considering joining a roleplay of any kind, you have a relatively balanced vocabulary and can post something that it worth reading and replying to. Check your posts; if you wouldn't be able to reply to it, how will your roleplaying buddy manage it?
- Spell checking is your friend. Though you'll catch Kin making typing mistakes all the time. I'll be the one correcting her all the time. I'm smarter than she is

- Please don't post in perfectly outrageous colours. It hurts my brain, and makes
Pete Wentz everyone cry.
- Although CARPE DIEM is rated R and threads containing sex, violence, drugs and other assorted things are completely permitted, please place an appropriate warning in the title of your topic. A simple [XX] will suffice. If your topic travels into uncharted ground later in the thread, just drop me a PM and I will edit a warning into your title.
- Remember that you can't play God. You may speak for your character and your character alone. Yes, we all know that it makes roleplaying a fight of some sort disgustingly slow, but it's just fairer that way. People
can dodge punches, though you'd be hard pressed to find someone who can dodge a bullet. Be realistic.
MISC IN CHARACTER INFORMATION.- Though you can create any species of demon/spirit, it is to be noted that not all of them can do everything that humans can. Dependant on the type of demon you are, or if you decide to become a spirit, you will not be able to physically do some things. This involves things such as emails, texts, and even love interests (in the physical nature of sex).
- Anyone may keep a present-day journal as their characters, unless they have chosen to be a spirit. Again, this is because spirits will not physically be able to complete a journal. They can, however, keep a collection of their past journals/photos.
