Canon CharactersSpace Commander Michael "Mike" Henderson (Avatar - Nick Frost)

Henderson is an idealistic explorer, eager to meet new races, and feels he is undervalued given his low-priority assignments. He regularly sends video messages to his nephew, telling of his exploits, and watches an average of 4.71 episodes per week of the telescreenovision show "Captain Helix". Has been called optimistic but also deluded and thinks orders are "open to interpretation".

Education: Dagenham Secondary Modern, New Portsmouth Cadet Camp
Favourite Sportgame Team: The Epping Velociraptors
Preferred Monopoly Token: the hat
Character Assessment
Henderson rose through the ranks in exactly the way we say people can in the recruitment ads, yet endeavour to prevent in practice. Henderson shows initative; always a dangerous sign.
Recommended Action
Send to a dangerous quadrant of the galaxy, where perhaps some alien race may deal with 'the Henderson problem' for us.

First Officer Eduardo Pauline York (Avatar - Kevin Eldon)

York is a brilliant scientist and tactician, second in command of the Camden Lock, but thinks he should be in command. He is also a borderline psychopath, obsessed with and taking immense joy in violence, needing only the slightest provocation to attack someone. He believes in a hardline doctrine and feels Commander Henderson is too lenient regarding the crew and application of regulations. He does not trust Technical Officer Jeffers, and has the ability to hold his breath for seven and a half hours to avoid the effects of sedative gas. Enjoys scientific experiments, such as making an intelligent kettle with a monkey's head, and cloning himself.
Space Force File: Authorised personnel only.Rank: First Officer
Education: Harrow, Peterhouse College Cambridge, and three years with the faceless monks of Quivutin.
Specialisms: Armed combat, unarmed combat, close combat, far-away combat, combat development and the history of combat.
Character Assessment
York is still the only trainee at Space Force Academy to ever kill someone in a role play workshop, after which he said he was "just trying to make it realistic, wasn't that the idea, or are you disagreeing with me as well?". A cold hearted, brutal psychopath.
Recommended Action
We need more like him.

Diplomatic Officer Chloe Teal (Avatar - Miranda Hart)

Teal has a large and obvious crush on Commander Henderson, who has not responded to her advances. Teal's skills as a diplomat could be questioned, when in two run-ins with the Queppu her she has actually managed to make things worse.
Space Force File: Authorised personnel only.Rank: Diplomatic Officer
Experience before Space Force: Assistant craft tent steward at Princes Risborough gymkhana (two years running)
Favourite pen colour: Silvery green
Character Assessment
Teal was expected to excel in her final exams at Space Force academy, yet spent the entire three hours working out the best way to arrange her coloured pens. We couldn't flunk her though because her Dad's an ambassador.
Recommended Action
The Camden Lock has proved a suitable place for her talents.

Navigator Dave Vine (Avatar - Stephen Evans)

Vine is a depressive and could be seen as a danger to himself and the entire crew. Vine's greatest apparent achievement to date is purchasing a planet in an auction. The planet was quickly renamed Vineworld with such locations as Vine City 1 and Vine Ridge. Vine is a quiet member of the crew, uncomfortable with standing up to the outgoing personality of Jeffers or the authoritarianism of York.
Space Force File: Authorised personnel only.Rank: Navigator
Favourite Sportgame Team: The Wrexham Grizzlies
Number of shoes owned: Five
Perfect holiday: A few days at the Leeds crater, followed by a bracing trip round the travelators of the Lake District and a nice pint.
Character Assessment
Suffering panic attacks and delusions, Vine is a danger to himself and the rest of his crew. He lives in fear of most things, including fear itself and the fear of fear itself. Oddly, he's fine with spiders.
Recommended Action
Medicate if becomes severe.

Technical Officer Jeffers (Avatar - Dan Antopolski)

Jeffers is an easy going and lax member of the bridge crew who has been placed in command of the Camden Lock on at least two occasions by Commander Henderson. He dislikes York and makes written notes on all the senior officer's mistakes. Jeffers has a liking for alien music; in particular, he enjoyed listening to the Lallakiss war anthem, "Kill the Humans" whilst on duty.

Pilot Sandstrom (Avatar - Petra Massey)

Sandstrom is an enhanced human, needed to ensure the Camden Lock keeps functioning. She agreed to have her body and mind modified in exchange for the Space Force paying off her student loan, assuming the offer would not be made if the procedure was not safe. Her personality was then overwritten and she functions much like an android, although chocolate seems to have an adverse emotional effect on her. She acts like a child and gets overexcited by any conversations involving gossip or romance.
Space Force File: Authorised personnel only.Rank: Pilot
Characteristics of the enhancement process: lightning fast reactions, ability to swiftly process vast amounts of data, slight deterioration of social skills.
Character Assessment
Sandstrom is a prototype. It may be that there are problems with the enhancement process, but the project went four times over budget so it is vital that we don't draw any attention to them.
Recommended Action
If pressed please say, ''The enhanced human project is a triumph of British engineering, and the early models which rampaged through Manchester should not blind us to that fact.''

Space Marshal Clarke (Avatar - Paterson Joseph)

Space Marshal Clarke pops up from time to time to remind the crew about what their mission is supposed to be. Slippery and hugely ambitious this is one person the crew certainly don't want to spend too much time around.

Princess Layvia of Queppu (Avatar - Montserrat Lombard)

Daughter of the Supreme Ruler of Queppu, and like her father she is fascinated by anything from Earth. She has a huge crush on Commander Henderson and will do anything to capture him.
