The thick strands that cascades over Cherie's shoulders are silky soft chocolate. Her hair is naturally straight and thick, fully framing her tiny face. Stocky, spiky bangs touch their tips to her eyelashes. Cherie takes special care for her hair, as if it was an obsession to her — well, it kind of is. She hates it tangled or dirty, and often carries a brush in her handbag. Cherie likes to keep her hair short — to a good measure so it's long enough for her liking — so caring for it won't be much of a problem. Her hair falls just over her shoulders to an uneven edge. Usually, to her fashion eyes, her hair would be put up in any design Cherie could think of.

Some could easily tell that Cherie's irises are warm, milky hazel. The color is the softer tint, looking almost ivory next to her dark pupils. Cherie has rather thin, long lashes that frame the top of her eyes. Thin brows stretch long above her eyes. Cherie has a small, skinny nose extending between her eyes to her tiny mouth. As small as her mouth is, a lot of things come out of it. Cherie's face is roundish with a pointed chin. Her skin has a flush of pink, although Cherie isn't one to blush quite often. Her facial appearance gives out the hint that she is a gentle person, but Cherie's character doesn't agree with that.

Cherie's body structure is slim and straight with relatively long, thin legs, giving her the looks of a rather speedy and supple person. Her strength is her weak point. Cherie isn't very muscular and well-built with thin sides and a small hip. Her skinny figure gives that away. She has thin legs, arms, and even fingers. Cherie isn't really weighty either. Cherie's skin is fairly pale with the soft touch of rose.

Cherie Northfeld loves shopping and total fashion, so, as you might have guessed the outcome of what she might wear usually. She's also quite picky about what to wear. However, although Cherie is very fashion foward, she isn't the girly type. She has a distaste for dresses, especially the puffy kinds.

On the days she decides to take a break from dressing out, Cherie goes with casual clothing, like a shirt and jeans. But although they are suppose to be casual, Cherie spends a great deal of time fussing over them as well. Cherie also dresses casual when on a trip or vacation, due to her mother's and father's distaste of her dressing fancy when on the move. For instance, an ivory sweater with a soft violet touch and a darkish chocolate skirt that reached to her calfs, included with a pair of laced, coffee-colored, leather boots is a good example of what she'd wear.

The main, simple words that would describe Cherie comfortably is spunky, sarcastic, naughtily playful, fashion foward, and giddy.

Cherie is usually very perked up and good-natured. She eyes the bright side of things and keeps her mood as fun as possible. She's taught to smile and laugh. She's the tittering type, talking like she breaths — very often. Words keep pouring out of her mouth, which seem too tiny to contain that amount, but it manages anyway. Plus, her animated character gives her an outgoing reputation in public. Cherie's never shy around girls or boys alike, although she seem to grow quieter when meeting a newcomer.

Although Cherie is cheerily peppy, her spunkiness can get her to be rather sarcastic and sassy. She doesn't direct this to her best of friends, normally. Usually, it's to her siblings and cousins. She has quite the sense of humor, which makes her sarcasm even funny to her close friends. Her favorite topic is toward Toby, who really has no idea what sarcasm is really. When toward Annabella or Darian, they shoot back, but Cherie decides it's more fun to do it with them. To people that really get in her hair, Cherie is bitingly satirical and can throw a handful of sass in their faces. Although her chaffling is done almost every minute, Cherie does it most of the time just to hear herself.

Another quality of Cherie is her mischievousness. She enjoys banter and basically being playful, even if she gets too arrogant. Cherie is also rather sneaky and will try for anything she wants, even if it means being sly and arrant — and she usually succeeds. Although she is constantly getting into trouble when putting her malignant nature into play, this twelve-year-old she persist to be her loose self. She isn't very serious with anything, thinking it's best if she was light-hearted. This girl is far from modest. Although she doesn't full-out brag and show-off, Cherie isn't one to be humble and quiet. Cherie doesn't usually show a self-conscious face, if she ever had been at all. She doesn't like to admit to herself, due to her naughty nature, that anything is wrong with her.

Mentioned before, Cherie is very fashion foward. She can be very aggresive when in a clothing store. In result, she kicked out of almost every one of them. Despite of that, Cherie remains passionate for her love of style and beauty. As if to prove her point, in her younger days, Cherie would go to school and ignore the dress code, slipping on an extra scarf or cap, or any short-than-allowed skirt to a leather jacket with large hoop earings.

What can another good word be for Cherie? Reckless might work. Cherie isn't the most careful person in the nation. She's kluzy and does before she thinks. Her constant mistakes tend to draw an irritating cut in other people, but she ignores them, most of the time. Like mentioned, Cherie isn't fond of accepting the fact that she is awkward. Cherie keeps an impish face and decides that she's funnier that way.

As cheeky as this girl can be, she's actually openhearted and warm... in her own way. Cherie likes to hang with friends and basically enjoy life to its fullest. She's fun to talk to, never afraid to fill in a silence, and tittering to the extreme. Popularity also goes along with Cherie. She likes her peppy and fun-loving self. Of course, she may get over-confident, but Cherie claims that if she lacked those qualities.

Journey and Amber Northfeld are both from Johto. Journey dwelled as an forest ranger of Ilex Forest in Azalea Town. Amber was the average city girl of Goldenrod City. They both first met in Ilex Forest when Cherie's mother was out running an errand and Journey was doing a patrol. After marriage, the two moved to Eterna City, Sinnoh. There, they opened a diner in the middle of town. Two years later, they brought up Darian, then Annabella a year later. Cherie came through two years later. Three years after that, Toby was born. As the four children grew, they helped run the diner. All proved to be quite excellent, although Cherie was never on task; she'd much rather find something else to do.

Cherie wasn't a fan of school — who was? — either was she one to be decent in, behavior and grade wise. She was the sassy-spunky popular type. Cherie loved hanging in the halls with her friends and gossip. Her grades weren't failing, but it wasn't too good either. She didn't care about school, and is known to leave homework hanging, teachers yelling after her, and even ditching school altogether. To more of the unpopular teachers, she was quite cheeky; to more liked teachers, she toyed with. Not a really responsible student. Cherie always gets a good scowling when her parents finds out about a surprising bad grade, unfinished homework, or a school ditch. She usually answers with something sarcastic boldly back.

Since she got no fun with help running the diner, Cherie appointed herself to dancing lessons. Okay, so she wasn't the best dancer, but Cherie really liked dancing. When she wasn't in dancing class, Cherie would run off to one of her friends, especially either Charlotte or Sienna, house, staying there till late at night, despite of the continuous scowls when she broke her curfew. Cherie continued to live as a normal city girl until one of her relatives dropped by on an unexpected visit.

It was a busy night at the Northfeld's diner. Cherie was busy running orders when he arrived. Cherie knew that she had a couple of cousins. They lived in Kanto, however, so Cherie, Darian, Annabella, and Toby didn't meet them often. When he arrived at the diner's doorstep, Cherie hardly reconized him. After everything was cleared up, the Northfeld settled down for a family chat. Evan Northfeld, cousin to Darian, Annabella, Cherie, and Toby, ends up to be a retired Pokemon trainer of Bolder looking for an occupation to start his fresh life.

As soon as Cherie heard of life as a Pokemon trainer, she became excited and made a wish to try it out herself. She became restless and wanted to break from her quiet hometown. Cherie's parents didn't approve of the idea, being their over-protective selves, and felt a stab of sting toward Evan, who had caused all of this. They weren't pleased, obviously, and didn't allow Evan to take a position in the diner staff. Trying not to offend the Northfeld adults in any way, he moved sulkily off in search of another chance to find a job. Cherie didn't find this fair, and seeped help out of Toby and an unwilling Annabella. They got Evan into the diner staff crew with Cherie's sneakest of ideas.

They weren't successful with getting a friendly link between Evan and their parents, but Cherie pointed out cleverly that she should be able to make her own choices and moves and won. She, surprisingly, did her chores and was on good behavior to prove that she could take care of herself as well for a few days, trying hard to rub that in Journey's and Amber's faces. A week later, they unwillingly agreed and let Cherie pack. Deciding to choose Bolder, in amusing dedication to Evan's inspiration, she leaves home with the quickest of good byes, rather regretting of her choice to leave, but not wanting to show that.
