Administrator Group: Admin Posts: 27 Member No.: 1 Joined: 17-August 07	LAYING {down the} LAW .RULES & REGULATIONS. GENERAL [x] Respect. Please have respect for each other on these Boards. It�s not that hard: no undue rudeness, discrimination or bigotry. Those types of attitudes are greatly frowned on and the minute I see any actions of this kind, you�re off my Board. [x] If you have a question, first and foremost before you ask the help of the Administrator (who is a very busy lady by the way), please do research on the Board first. Look around, if there are any examples that have been given, read over them; check the FAQ or ask another member. Try and answer the question on your own, but if you absolutely cannot find the answer then you can ask my help, and I will be more than happy to. [x] Please respect the English language, and do not butcher it on this Board. Within your posts in either the General forum or in the actual place where you RP, please use proper sentence structure, capitalization and grammar. I don�t mind slight �netspeak such as �I <3 u!� Or �btw, LOL, ROTFL, etc�, but do not use these in excess. [x] Please read the announcements periodically for any changes or updates on the Board. [x] If your character has not been accepted, please do not post anywhere on the Board except the General Discussion, the FAQ and anywhere else is listed. If you do, you risk deletion of your account. CHARACTERS & SIGN-UP [x] Please, if you are going to play more than one character, create a different account with each different character. You�re allowed to have up to three characters (the number will grow if I see you�re consistent with your posting and activity on the Board) which means you can have up to three accounts, but please don�t use the same screen name for three characters. [x] When you sign-up for each character, you will sign-in with that character�s given name; that means both a first and last name. You will not sign-up with any nicknames your character may have or any nick names you may have. The proper and improper ways to sign-up on the Board are listed below:: ~ This is the right way:: �John Doe� or if you want to be clever and give your character a middle name :: John Anyman Doe. ~ This is the wrong way:: �flameJutsu� or ph33r\|\/\|y733tsk177z or any other type of name that is not a FIRST and LAST name. If you decide to sign-up in the wrong way, your name will automatically be deleted. There are too many baby name sites on the web for this rule to be flexible, and it isn�t. [x] Please, when you sign up as an Original Character, do not create a character that alters the world and plot in which I have built for Bloodied Ink. Use the information provided on the Board to make your character. Don�t bring in other ideas from other places or other ideas that are contrary to information that I have provided. If you do this, I will be sure to tell you, and I will expect you to change your character�s profile application accordingly. [x] While I know the temptation to make your character the most powerful of �such-and-such� and �so-and-so� in your profile is great, don�t do it. I have already made Canon characters whose power levels are exceedingly great, and if you are not a writer for those Canons, don�t put in your profile that �the members of {your character�s name here}�s family gathered together and gave him/her all their powers. They died as a result, but s/he became the greatest power in the family, and is the greatest power in Cape Havaland.� I will ask you to change your profile accordingly if you do it, but if you�ve read these rules you won�t do it anyway. [x] You will fill out every single field in the character sheet where it requires information. The only exception to this rule is �Nicknames� as it is not necessary for your characters to have nicknames, and when filling out the section for Face Claim, please don�t post: �I don�t have an Celeb-face� or �I�m basing it off a character from my book� or �I don�t have one.� Clearly, if you fail to fill out the application form in its entirety, you will not be accepted until you do. GAMEPLAY & PLOTS [x] In order for this Board to remain open and be a success, people have to post, and I understand that everyone has a real life that comes first and foremost before any RPing, so you must respond to any post you�ve made in the actual section for RPing at least once a week so that plots can be moved along and people won�t have to be waiting on your post for a two or more weeks. [x] You will not kill off another member's character unless you and that other member are in total agreement as to the future of said character that will be killed. Do NOT violate this rule, or I will come after you with a crazed mob waving pitchforks. [x] I ask that you please remain relevant to the game and the way other gamers play it. This means, don�t create a plot or sub-plot for your character that will either adversely or completely change the Board as I have set it up. Example, please don�t create a plot in which your character engineers a super-virus that wipes out all the characters on the Board. [x] Don�t sit around and let a good thread pass you by. If you see a thread that interests you, if it doesn�t say closed �closed�, ask if you can join. [x] Please remember that unless your character is omniscient (which they aren't) that you character can not be in two different places at the same time. Somewhere in your posts you're going to have to mention whether or not it is before or after certain events, nothing too fancy just something subtle so that other members don't get confused. [x] While I know this is a Board based on the concept of Slash, Het and Gen, please remember ladies and gentlemen that unless you're Hugh Hefner, not ALL of your threads should deal with sex. This a board for plots as well, people, so let's not have one big sex-capade all the time; even though that'd give me something interesting to look at and read while I should be doing work. If the thread does contain sex or mature themes, please put an "M" in brackets in the Thread Topic's description line. Just a simple :: [M] will do. [x] I can't believe I forgot this rule, but now that I've remembered:: No God-Moding or Powerplay. You cannot nor will you control another person's character to do what you want them to do and no, you don't know everything another person's character maybe thinking or feeling. Here's an example just for you: The right way to role play: Jax swung his fist at Alex, not sure whether or not the other man would dodge. Here's the wrong way to role play: Jax swung his fist, but Alex didn't move out of the way in time, and Jax's fist connected with his jaw. FACE CLAIMS, AVATARS & SIGNATURES [x] When choosing the face you want to claim for your character, please use the faces of celebrities, be they from the television or movies. Do not, under any circumstances, use the likeness of anime or cartoon characters, comic book characters or any other such face that is not one of a human being. This also includes book characters, and not just books of known authors, but books you may be inclined to write yourself. [x] Check often to see whether or not the celebrity�s face that you want to use is not already taken. If it is, bollocks! You�ll have to use another face. [x] When creating a character please do not create them for the sake of having the celebrity�s face. If you make the character, play the character. [x] If you make yourself an Avatar, or someone else makes you one it has to be no larger 200x200 and no smaller than 100x100. If you have read these rules then verify in the character application by putting in the password:: 'cocoapops!.' [x] All signatures must be no larger and no smaller than 400 x 100 - 200, and if you include words (or only have words for your signature), you can only have up to three or four sentences for your signature so that it won�t make the Board look flooded with pictures in each post. rules courtesy of Rikki and Wyrrd City Blues
