Searching for the Everlight

[Sora Elric]

Lance and Nero appear on the island. Lance looked around, taking in the surroundings. "Where should we start, Nero-sensei?"

[Zecarius]

Nero shrugged, then glanced around, looking carefully. He saw a group of faeries, and pointed to them. "We could try asking them; however, I'm not sure how they will react to the word. It could get violent."

[Sora Elric]

Lance nodded and walked over to the faires. "Hey, do you know anything about the Everlight?"

[Zecarius]

The faeries glanced up at the boy, then quickly huddled to make a plan. Finally, they broke, and one sprite stepped forward. We'll tell you what we know... if you answer our questions!

(I don't know where you want this to go, so I'm just running with it!)

[Sora Elric]

Lance looked at the fairy. "Alright, I'll answer your questions." He folded his arms across his chest.

[Zecarius]

The fairy paused, a bit confused. No one ever agreed to answer the questions; they usually ran away in fear and confusion! Now it had to think quickly...

The sprite cleared its throat. First question: what is the Everlight?

[Sora Elric]

"It's a stone that can grant any wish." Lance smiled confidently.

Hisoka carefully crossed the land, moving quietly as to not frighten whatever awaited for him. He stopped at the edge of a small line of trees, peering out into the field beyond him. He could make out what appeared to be two people, talking to...something. He squinted his eyes, trying to get a better look. Could it be...? Faeries!? He couldn't believe it. He almost remembered something he had heard about them long ago...but, the thought trailing at the back of his mind was that ever constantly persistant voice, 'There are no such things as faeries...'

He shook his head and crouched down, using the brush and tall weeds to hide himself from view. He slowly crept a little closer, trying to figure out just what was going on.

Of course, he wasn't even sure himself what he was doing here. Another mission with just the words 'go to this location', and a small piece of a map scribbled on with where he was to go. Most likely, there was something here that had picked the old man's interest...something like an ARM, or even maybe the magic that floated around this place. He could feel it seep through his body, and he shivered inspite of himself. This place was alive with magic. So, there being faeries here didn't seem all too illogical...

[Zecarius]

The fairy winced; no one was suppose to be able to answer the questions. Err... right, it said, rapidly racking its brain for another question. Next question: How big is it? The sprite grinned, confident that Lance wouldn't get that one.

Nero felt a presence, but didn't turn his head, not wanting to inform whoever it was that the ninja knew about them. He did, however, reach one hand back into his pouch, pulling out his book. However, Nero hid a kunai in the book while he read, prepared in case the stalker attacked them.

[Sora Elric]

Lance thought for a moment. "It's big enough to fit in the palm of my hand." He didn't realize that there was someone else in the area, he was to busy taking a quiz.

Hisoka blinked slightly, noticing the shift in position of one of the people. He frowned slightly and moved off to the side, still hiding beneath the line of brush, hoping not to disturb whatever was going on. His curiousity had gotten the best of him though, and now he had to find out just what was happening. If nothing else...he had to see a faerie closer up!

He stopped when he was still a good distance away, but could see all of the members of the little group clearly. He carefully watched each faerie, ignoring the other two with them. He had seen enough humans in his life, not that he could remember many of them at all. But, faeries on the other hand...

Stop this nonsense! I told you, there are no such things as faeries! Thigns like magic and faeries...those stories are just made up to make us more hopeful!

Hisoka winced and clutched his head. That voice again...he could even see her in his memory, a faded persona of who she was, but a ring of gold surrounded her. She was started to haunt him even more these days...everytime he went out for a mission, she would come with him. back at the base, he was safe...but, was she really someone he wanted to run from..? He brushed the thought aside and tried to refocus on the faeries.

[Zecarius]

The fairy blinked, then glanced over at the other two, not sure how to respond. They gestured and waved, trying to figure out some way to declare it false. Finally the sprite sighed, and looked back at Lance. Correct. Now, for your last question: where, exactly, is the Everlight?

[Sora Elric]

Lance was dumbfounded. "THAT'S WHAT I WANTED YOU TO TELL ME!!!!" He sighed and slumped over. Looks like he was back at square one...

Hisoka blinked. Everlight...? What was that. There were many things he hadn't heard of before, but he couldn't help but wonder if maybe that was the reason he had been sent here. He somehow doubted it, knowing that so far all of his missions had been directed at collecting ARMs and overthrowing users..but, what if that was the name of an ARM..? Maybe this conversation, and the people having it, would prove to be useful after all...

There had to be more of a reason for him to be here then to watch faeries, after all.

[Zecarius]

The fairy giggled, triumphant. It wandered over and touched a rock, causing the stone to move and reveal a tunnel. It's down here, stupid! You fail! The sprite turned to the others in a victory dance over the boy ninja.

Nero arced one eybrow, still reading his book, and slowly, silently walked over to the opening, wanting to get down there before the natives noticed.
