Here is information about avatars and signatures for beginners.

Avatars: If you have an avatar it will be displayed right below your username when you post and will also be in your profile. You can upload one from your computer or the internet by clicking on "My Controls" near the top of the screen. Scroll down and on the left side of the screen is a section called "Personal Profile". Click on "Edit Avatar Settings". To upload from your computer click "Browse" beside where it says 'Upload a new image from your computer' and click on the photo you would like as your avatar. Or you can upload a photo from the web by putting it's exact URL in the spot beside where it says 'Enter a URL to an online avatar image'. Avatars uploaded from your computer cannot be more than 25KB and if it is too large it will automatically be scaled down to 150 x 150 pixels.

Signatures: If you have an avatar it will be displayed below each of your posts and PMs. Signatures are normally pictures that are decorated to look neat. You can also have normal text in your signature. To upload a signature go to "My Controls" and scroll down. On the left side of the screen under the section called "Personal Profile" click on "Edit Signature". You cannot upload a signature picture from your computer. It must be on the web. If you want a picture of your own as your sig picture, register with an online photo hosting site such as www.photobucket.com. It's free and easy! Then just copy and paste the URL tag that has [IMG][/IMG] on either side. You can get a custom made sig picture from anyone who has a thread offering to make signatures or avatars; or you can make your own.

Here are the rules for signatures and avatars:

1) Please don't have a humongous signature! It can be very annoying having to scroll past someone's signature that is a half mile long! If you picture is so big that you have to scroll side to side then please either size it down or remove it.
2) No bad pictures or profanity. It might be best to stick with horses or animals.

Av & Sig Threads:If you make custom avatars and signatures for people please don't make a hundred threads! One you make a thread keep using it until there are more than 50 pages. And if you want a custom av or sig please don't make a post requesting one if there are threads for custom avs or sigs.
