The Search for the Gate.

I step out of the Renzia city library into burning sunlight. After what seems like years spent reading through dusty old books I finally found a description of the gate (see About section for this description). I get my equipment together and start to ponder where this might be - it's going to be a long journey.

I take out a large map and lay it across the stone steps just outside the library. I look at it and start planning a route across it that will take me across many continents. Why should I complain about this task? It is for the good of the empire after all...

sitting in the mountain area of Roccia i jump down the ledge to go to my most well known home to collect some parchments and the gift from Kadji and Sheera

" i wonder how many have died trying to find the spirit realm i have left it but not entered through the door but my spirit is still there and maybe someone elses"

After watching the urgent researcher or someone who seemed like one for hours i decided to approach him, leaning on a pillar of the library hiding in the shadow of the pillar. "The spirit gate, you're looking for it arent you? The chance to be the first to cross the border that seperates the living from the dead, must be exciting for you isn't it? To witness real spirits, to see your loved ones? Im warning you that's not a place we should look into. The spirit gate may seem like a once in a life time chance and a discovery to change humanity forever but, things like this should not be interferred with. This is God's territory, there is a reason no one has ever been into the spirit realm and that is because God's will prevents us. Not to restrict us... but to protect us, there are things in this world that arent as they seem. There are dark sinster things we cant possibly imagine, don't make the same mistake i did..." i throw a smoke capsule on the floor and when it dissipitates i have dissappeared.

I stare at the smoke for a moment, then mutter under my breath "there are many Gods my friend, and they all have different wills."

I head towards the Palace of the Renazian Leader with the results of my research. It is only a short walk, and after showing the guard proof of being a member of the Army he lets me through the main Palace gates, closing them behind me.

Standing on a high belltower of a church nearby i watch as the soldier enters the Palace of Renazia before muttering to myself under my breathe "history is repeating itself.... it must be stopped...." i turn away and begin walking out of the city.

i look at the oddly shaped pendant and it reacts suddenly

"huh seems like someone is looking for a way to the realm of the damned"

I am invited into the ruler's office and I stand uncertain of what to do. The room leads out onto a Balcony with a fantastic view over the Palace grounds. I stare out through the glass doors before someone clears their throat from the corner of the room. The person in paticular is the leader of Renazia; he sits at a chair behind a desk and signals me to speak.

Hastly, I say "Sir, I have discovered a passage concerning the whereabouts of the Spirit Realm, I thought you ought to know..."

He looks at me for a moment with a thoughtful look in his eyes. "Your name?"

"Soldato Sir. We were told down at the..."

"Ah Soldato." He interrupts. "Yes I have heard much about your work for the empire since you joined. You have become quite famous around here of late."

"Thank you Sir. We were told down at the Barracks that if we knew anything of the Spirit Realm we were to come to you. I undertook some research and found this...."

I present him the scrap of yellowed paper to read and wait for what he has to say.

I walk out of the town taking a few steps forward before stopping after hearing my men call me, I look towards my right at the corner of my eye a group of 3 men disguised in large robes making it impossible to see their identity sharpening their weapons and checking their equipment.
Soldier1: So? how'd it go? did he trust you?
"No... too blinded by ambition and corrupted by Renazia, get ready by nightfall... we're on"
Soldier2: Hehe no need to get ready i mean come on we're ELITE no one can stop US
"don't get cocky, that kind of thinking will get you killed so stick to the plan and don't wander off ok?"
Soldier2: Yes sir...
"good, at nightfall we strike and remember don't kill innocent people we're just after the information ok? we can't have people investigating The Gate, and once you get the information escape quickly avoiding combat and then once you're out of the city destroy the evidence and documents. We've been trusted to prevent this from happening so don't let your guard down."
I walk off towards the tent stationed near the city gates.

i drop the pendant and it spins pointing to the direction to the Renazian empire

"looks like i get to visit somewhere"


i grab my sword sort out items that i need and put my armour on and then grabbing the pendant and finally throwing an explosive into the house and walking off to Renazia

Reaching the tent i throw my equipment and weapons on a desk and walk out of the tent to a nearby river, I wash my face and look at the large city of Renazia. I sigh and walk back to the tent where I polish my sword and armour, a female soldier walks in.
Soldier: Sir we're ready to raid the city on your signal, all teams are in position and the guards are soon going to change shifts
"huh? oh right.. tell them to attack the moment the shifts change and make sure to not make too much noise..."
Soldier: Yes sir.. err sir is anything wrong? you seem troubled
"oh dont worry about it.. its nothing really"
Soldier: You're thinking about what happened when you did it arent you?
There is a silence for a few moments and the i get up and walk out of the tent leaving the soldier, I walk towards the river and look at my reflection. I lift part of my sleeve to show a scar, black in colour and the skin around it looks decayed. I put my sleeve back down and walk towards the nearest squad, either side of the other squads wait for my signal all in a chain ready to attack at the same time. Hidden behind trees, behind rocks, in bushes, behind the walls with ladders ready and several on hill tops overlooking the city with bow and arrows at the ready.

The man reads the parchment and then gets up slowly and walks out onto the Balcony.

"It's getting dark out" He says. "We can expect the raids soon."

Stepping out onto the balcony after him I reply "Raids?"

"Yes, the Guards reported a number of tents and encampments just outside the city walls. No doubt some of the Bandit factions have joined forces for this. The problem is its too late to call back our armies and get reinforcements from the other cities of the empire. We have no idea when these bandits will attack or what their purpose is. All we can hope for is that the defenses of the city are strong enough to withstand them and that we have enough guards to take them out when they approach."

"Surely a city like this can take out a group of untrained bandits?"

"Rumour has it that they follow a leader of some kind... we do not know. Whatever this group is they are a serious threat at this time. We have very few men at our disposal."

He turns to me with a serious look in his eyes and an almost pleading look on his face.

"It is vital you find the Spirit Realm for the sake of the city, perhaps the Empire! This.... there is no other word for it.... army, has been gathering outside for some time. It is quite possible they could take the city tonight and if they control this city they have a point from which they can take over the Empire! Come with me and let me explain...."

i slowly approach the city and i find tents and encampments out of firing range of the walls.

"hmm bandits or small invading force i don't want to be involved in this"

i grasp the handle of my sword and continue on

He takes me down a few floors into a dark room. It is like a dungeon, except it has been added to to make it more like a meeting room. He lights a torch brack and suddenly the walls, covered in light, reveal maps, documents and plans. Clearly the leader had found more information on the spirit realm than I had done, although a replica of the piece I had bought him seemed to be at the fore as the only true description of the place. Other pieces just showed little scraps which made a faint suggestion of the spirit realm but nothing direct.

He passed a note to one of the guards who leaves and comes back 10minutes later with 4 men. One of them looks like an Assasin, dressed in black silk with a concentrated look on his face. 2 of them I recognise as generals of the Army, and the last I did not know at all.

The lord stands up and announces, "Gentlemen, it is time."

As the guards change shift the archer on the hill begin firing on the castle walls taking down several archers and other guards, there are several explosions on the city gates and my men charge through making their way to every library temple and other areas where information on the Spirit Realm might be. I walk through the city gates watching as the guards fight ferosiously against us trying to keep us away from the palace or w/e, I look up at the balcony and notice that he two figures had left and i realised they were already on their way to 'The Gate'. I run forward cutting down the guards in my way as i made my way towards the palace, *history will not repeat itself... not again* i thought to myself as i am surrounded by a group of guards
Guard1: Halt you shall not go any further if you ignore this warning you give us no choice but to stop you.
I laugh to myself before throwing multiple smoke grenades on the floor and dissappearing in the confusion.

"fighting for somewhere you wont be able to enter when you find it.. i have to follow this and watch"

chuckling to myself i wander into the fight pushing soliders and bandits aside
