Perrl'a smiled sadly. The parting three years ago had been her prediction, but not her will. Esme was about to come round and talk about it. She knew what was going to be said. Esme was going to pass on soon enough just like everyone she had ever loved in this everlasting life. That's what she got for being a fool in her youth.

Esme opened the flap and walked in, slowly. "Hi, Pearl." She smiled, that empty look still in her eyes. "You don't look a day older." She laughed, her eyes crinkling at the edges.
Perrl'a smiled back. "Sit down. I have tea ready for you."
Esme chuckled. "You always do."
She smiled and leaned forward. "So, what did you come to tell me about Eiva?"
Esme's eyes widened for a second and then she laughed. "You always get me with that one. Since the day I met you over 15 years ago now... Never fail to..."
Perrl'a handed her a handkerchief. Esme looked at it, then took it and started sobbing into it a little. When she was ready, she spoke.
"I suppose you know about Eiva, then."
Perrl'a nodded. "But a prediction is but an estimation. She has the will to overcome her fate. As does Rei."
Esme looked away. "My son is also in danger... I sense that and yet, my dream has been about Eiva... Her face was the thing I saw before all went black. It was s-screaming... It was so horrible."
Perrl'a rested her chin on her hands. "I had the same dream. I passed it to you, subconsciously, I think. I'm sorry for what you had to see."
Esme shook her head. "I'd rather know for myself."

One thing was bothering Perrl'a about the dream. "Someone was missing from the group, though, wasn't he?"
"Deriku." Whispered Esme.

Gengi kicks the sand smiling the dust blew up like old memories in the wind, the ones he remembered weren't all that good since the last sand he touched led to several years into a dark cell in Restata high security prison to atone for his crimes which did do some good to his stealing and other things. "It's been long, I wonder if Suki hung around here."

He enters a small tented village dropping his spear into the ground the many armoured pieces reflecting in the sunlight, for once he had a job and wore his items with some pride despite the heat and weight of the new formed metal he was testing.

A figure appeared at the edge of the village. Her [forgot color] hair tied up in a ponytail swung back and forth as she jogged into the village. Her movements were so childlike and whimsical. Who was she? Oh wait...its...

Her voice was beautiful but right now, it killed some villagers ears. Its a legend, but I heard that at that moment, a deaf man could hear!!

She giggled as she ran to the tent and tore inside.

"LOOK! DIDNT YOU MISS ME?! ITS LIKE BEING HOME ALL OVER AGAIN!!"

She looked at them expectedly. In the back of her mind, she wondered where Eiva and Rei were [maybe haha]. She was back from her four year trip. It was really only supposed to be two but things happen...

Esme turned painfully and slowly and looked up, smiling, her eyes shining. "Suki!" She exclaimed. "How delightful to see you. I was beginning to worry these old eyes would never see you again."
Pearl smiled. "It's good to see you." She said, not sounding a day older than when they had met, but taller and more heavily built now than the skinny slave girl she had been.

Esme motioned the place next to her. "Have a seat. There's tea in the pot as always." She smiled at Pearl, the usual glint missing from her eyes. Pearl knew she meant they would continue their conversation later.
Pearl put her hand on Suki's shoulder as she sat down, and handed her some bread, holding up her own and making the blessing for the land and the food. Esme couldn't eat much these days as her appetite withered in her illness. Pearl looked at her sadly. Just 37 years of age. Why had the beautiful Esme been smitten with old age so early? But predictions didn't mean fate, as she often had to remind herself as she remembered Deriku and her daughter.
Esme smiled at Suki again. "So where have you been on your travels?"

Pearl watched them chatting and waited for Gengi. Sometimes the future could be unbearable to know.

Suki smiled.

"Oh. I've just been traveling from place to place. I've gifts. Where are Eiva and Rei? They must have missed me! I'd be ever so sad if they didnt."

She stood up and walked over to a large bag that she dropped off at the door of the tent.

Pearl and Esme exchanged a glance before she returned. Pearl spoke first. "They're off on a trip of their own at the moment. They haven't said when they'll return, but they're old enough to take care of themselves I think." She smiled, confidently. "I'm sure they're missing you dearly. I'll send them word that you're back if you like. That is, if you're planning to stay long?"

Suki took a quick glance at them, feeling uneasiness. She quickly covered with a smile.

"Darn. I should have come back earlier. Or at least on time. I feel terrible."

She pouted a bit and walked back to sit down again.

"Well if you dont mind to send them word. Maybe they might come back to visit. Or I could always go see them. I hope you don't mind me staying a bit. I'll try not to be a bother. Because after traveling around for four years. Staying in one place for a bit would be like heaven."

[how old is everyone?? ok so this is esme and pearls side of the story of angc? so that would make suki like...how many years old? how old was rei when they first met? so its 14 plus 16 years? no wait...i'm so confused]

Gengi lifts a mask covering his face to sheild the velvet like sand blowing up from the wind although being as sharp as glass if you weren't careful enough, his hood of the robe like top he was wearing covered any elf like features unless you counted the youthful look of the 26 year old half elf but then again he was pretty much in his prime at this point and had a few hundred years left till he got too old.

A familiar presence of 3 people to be exact as Gengi stopped a few inches past a group talking together his head twitched as if he heard a familiar voice the look hidden from their veiw but it was obvious he'd stopped for a reason whether the people'd notice or not was purely up to their awareness.

Suki tensed in mid laugh as she was telling of her travels. She eyed the other two.

"There's someone purposely standing out there listening in..."

But...somehow she recongnized the presence. It had a little change to it...but..it was so familiar...Who..who could it be??

Pearl sighed. "It's about time for Gengi's prison sentence to be up, isn't it? Let him in, there's more tea."

Suki sat suprised, unmoving for several seconds.

"Gengi.." It was said slightly as a question, as a rememberance, and as a suprise.

Her brain was reeling. What should she do? She didn't expect him at all. This was...a suprise. She knew his sentence would be up soon, but she didn't know when. And he was here right when she came back. What a coincidence. She thought intently. What kind of prank would work right now? Nothing! She didn't set anything up.

Suki sighed. Not in tiredness. Just a sigh. Maybe disapointment.

Gengi looks at the entrance of the tent and puts the spear into the sand the dust blowing up as he does, although he wasn't sure how to enter a tent since there was usually one entrance and he didn't break into places anymore, a quick flick of his spear and moving the entrance flap open whilst standing in the doorway. "Suki you've aged.."

Pearl frowned. "Sit down and have some tea already. You've been out there long enough." She poured him some tea, and pushed it to the side, opposite to Suki.

Esme looked bewildered. "H-hello, Gengi."

Gengi sat down where he was directed, he was upright and looked like he'd learned manners from prison however that was managed no-one knows, he noticed that Pearl had aged like him...Barely if anything just taller and a few pounds heavier if likely, Esme on the other hand was much older than he remembered she aged like a human normally does. "Hey Esme, lack of kids about the tent aren't there?"

Esme looked at him, her mouth open. Pearl spoke. "They're off on a holiday. A sort of coming of age thing, if you will."
Esme's face relaxed. "They'll be back before you know it, I expect."
