Pearl watched a couple of priests having a scrap in the dirt, dead bodies surrounding them. She sighed. What was the point in their existence? Why were they bothered about stupid things like this when their lives were about to end anyway? Why didn't they go and enjoy themselves or something?

She lay back on the grass from her vantage point on the mountain overlooking this particular battle scene. The most confusing thing was that they weren't just running away. They had both been scout parties sent to spy out the enemy and had met each other half way. They hadn't been particularly well equipped as far as weaponry was concerned, so they fought using knives and fists until now there were three priests against two. She didn't even know if they were priests; they were wearing robes, that's all she knew. She sat up again and frowned. The odds had been evened now, the extra man on the one side coughing blood as he collapsed.

"I wonder..." She glanced behind her at the cave where Red slept. She probably wouldn't be missed.

The men breathed heavily, watching each other as they circled each other slowly. The two who had been outnumbered before separated slowly from their huddled defensive position. It was clear they intended to make it a one-on-one fight between each of them. The attackers were slightly confused from the change in tactics and moved in a similar way. Suddenly a light blinded them. They looked up to see a shining figure above them.

"Listen, faithful followers! Uh, run back to your people and tell them that the... Almighty... Has commanded that thou shalt not fight! That is all..." Pearl disappeared.

The men looked at each other and ran in opposite directions. God or not, they weren't risking disobeying it. At least not in front of it...

Pearl kicked a rock off a cliff face and watched it drop in front of one of the fleeing scouts, watching him jump back in fright. She didn't really feel very satisfied even now. It was a stupid approach... But it's what Red would have done... She sighed and walked back into the cave. She didn't really have a chance.

Black had stayed around for a while longer than he'd expected, he was slowly realising Yasetia was protecting itself more efficiently than expected. This meant he'd have to move fast if the full chaos of his plan was to fall into place.
He set off towards Restata, pushing his horse as hard as he could.
