It was bright the morning sun burst down on Ryuu, his full name was Kuro-ryuu but it wasn't something those who were close to him named him by although this would be his first time at this school so more than likely the word kuro would enter the equation, a boring life for this 16 year old high schooler and uniforms just didn't work he couldn't understand the point of them, that aside he heads down the stairs and out the door towards the large building that was the school.

"I wonder how long it'll be till I leave here." Before shutting the gate he sighs and walks slowly, he was going to be shown to the front of the class anyway so what was the point of heading there quickly even if he did walk slow the time he got there would be the same as everyone else, hell he may even see what he'll have to put up with for however long the family live here for.

Melody had been looking around the school, it was just another school,with stupid uniforms, why did they have to wear unifroms. She hated them anyway. "Damn uniforms, for all those sexist perverts who want to see a thing or two when they can't even see anything for being so damn pathetic." She crossed her arms and just looked at her blonde hair in her face. She moved it a bit to the side so it was only over one eye and she looked around a bit more while walking around trying to enjoy the sites before more students began to come. She just sighed and continued to walk around while waiting for time to pass.

Jay was out of it. He never really paid much attention to what everyone was doing just before school started, and he wasn't about to begin. He was in his own world. His own world was very much like this world, except quieter, and he could go wherever he wanted, and do what he wanted without the restrictions of an average teenage kid. In his mind though, he wasn't average. He was on a completely different plane of existence. Now, if only he could find someone else who--

"JAYJAY!!"

He sighed. Someone who definitely did not understand the complex ideas that went through his head- Red. No-one really knew why they called her Red. She stood out, he supposed. She reached him, and pulled him from his perch on the small wall at the edge of the playground by his backpack straps, and had him nose to nose in the next second. He didn't react much, despite being breathless. It happened a lot.

"You know there's a new kid coming today? I want to be the first to show them the school this time, so you have to help!"

"Why me? Anyway, did you know that whatever you're wearing, it's not the school uniform?" He eyed her clothes as she stepped away. The blouse and skirt of the school uniform, sure, but other than that... Well, okay, the tie was present, but wearing it around your head like a bandanna was surely not acceptable... she had stripy tights on, or high socks, he couldn't tell, and her boots were knee high and heavy looking. She had an armband on her left arm, upon which was written the words: 'Crazy? Sane? Same thing!' And, of course, as always, she had a rose in her blouse pocket. The blouses didn't use to have pockets, but she sewed one in, specially.
He raised an eyebrow. She ignored him.

"So, is it a boy or a girl?"

"Sheesh, Red, you make him sound like a newborn baby or something."

"It's a boy?" She clasped her hands together, not seeming to notice, or perhaps care, that people were beginning to give her funny looks and a wide berth. "Okay, you're helping me out on this one okay?"

"Not really."

She ignored him again. He sighed, and walked slowly to class, trailing behind her as the bell began to ring. (If there is a bell. Or some sort of thing where it tells you it's time for class. Whatever.)

The building was quite large big even for a school as if they had more than just students attending, he makes his way down the basic corridors the few noticeboards and items littering the wall to give it more life even though students running through the already small gaps between person and wall, it didn't take long for Ryuu to reach the principal's office and eventually get informed about the current years events, teachers and classes he'd attend over his however long stay would be.

Before long Ryuu was standing outside a room marked 5-C with sounds of people talking all of them students, you could see through a gap in the window of those curious 90 percent trying to figure out who he was and what he looked like, it seemed that was the only thing that mattered in public schools, that and popularity with other students but he wasn't there to make freinds usually by the time he did hsi family moved again.

The normal words suddenly echoed in his mind as he hears the Principal announces to the class. "Please welcome your new classmate Ryuu and make him feel welcome here."

Words that were equivalant to nails on a chalkboard he'd heard it so many times before but he enters all the same gentley pushing the door open enough to walk through and then to the postion all new kids are supposed to go as if it was a rule, all eyes watch focused on him checking, analysing it was unnerving as he stood there. "....."

Red jumped up. "HIII!! Welcome to ********!!! Hope you enjoy your stay here!! And furtherm--"

"Red, please. Sit down."

She sat down, frowning at the teacher, who sighed and moved on.

"Okay, go and sit down now son. I think there's a chair at the back by Jacob, there."

Jay shifted his bag off the chair, and shoved it beneath the desk. He ignored Red who was making hand conversation with him urgently. Last thing he needed was to get involved in another of Red's "projects". He shuddered.

The teacher pulled out a register as the principal left the room. He went through a few names...

"Idris Elda?"
"Yes, sir."
Jacob Mirson?"
Jay sighed. "Yes, sir. Good morning, sir."
"Good morning, Jacob. Jam--"

Red coughed loudly.

"Sorry, Red?"
"Yes, sir. Good morning, sir." She said, sweetly.
He ignored her, moving on. "Ryuu Kuro?"

Ryuu slowly walked to the seat and made himself as comfortable as possible with almost no movement, it didn't take much to ignore the over exicted student there was one in every school he went to that had less strict teachers but he would end up being spoken to be her since thats what they did it was a job to find out who the new person was and what they were like so others could feel comfortable, he waited and listened out for his name and there it was pronounced a bit wrong and fully instead of just Ryuu it made him smirk slightly and shake his head before speaking. "Close enough sir, good morning."

He rubbed the bridge of his nose it was more than likely that the teacher would ask for the correct way of saying his name but like the one called Red he didn't like the name he was given either.

Jay looked at the new boy over his glasses. He was good at ignoring Red, but he doubted that would last. He sighed again, and turned his attention back to the front of the class, where the teacher had finished the register and was giving them a short lecture on courtesy around the school. Jay listened intently, and was probably the only one who did. He even jotted down notes, although this was mostly to avoid Red, who was still signalling frantically at him. She finally gave up, but he could feel her huffiness coming over the room to him, like an icy breeze.

The bell rang again. The class jumped up, but he stayed in his seat, slowly putting away his notepad. It wasn't that he didn't like History. Just that he-- A shadow fell over him. He sighed yet again, and looked up. She wasn't looking at him though. He grabbed his bag and tried to make a break for it, but Red grabbed his arm.

"Don't go yet, Jay, we have Science together now!"

"No I--"

"So, let's all walk together!" She marched them from the class, heading for Science. He let himself be marched, feeling sympathetic for the new guy.

"Red, I really do--"

"So! Where are you from? Do you know many people around here? Can you find your way around okay?"

The questions kept coming, as they neared Science. History was at the very other end of the building. Jay sighed for the nth time. He wasn't going to make it.

As they entered the class, the discussion stopped as people stared at Red for a moment, and then continued in slightly quieter tones. Nobody seemed too concerned about the new kid. There were plenty of them in the top group Science, as people came here from all sorts of Colleges and Universities. It was generally acknowledged that the school was one of the most advanced in the country. The room was more of a lecture theatre, and Jay blinked at the many students. There were people in their twenties and thirties here, just for the lecture. He didn't know it was that advanced.

The lecturer peered at him over her glasses. "I know Red and the new student, Ryuu, are in here now, but why are you here, Jay?"

He frowned. "Don't know, miss. I should be in History."

A few people giggled.

"Well run along then, please, you're holding us up."

He walked out and made it to history ten minutes late.

Melody was sitting there in history class and she had yawned and just proped her head in her hands while watching the professor standing there talking about some war. She was interested but she was focused on some other things. She noticed that someone had walked in late, Poor guy, he was late...probably from Red, Makes me wonder what happened to the new guy....Wonder if hes stuck in the same class as her. Probably got dragged around from class to class. Melody shook her head and looked back at the professor while looking bored and she felt something else but she didn't look too much into that.

Jay looked around the class, momentarily bemused. His usual seat at the back had been taken. The teacher looked at him through his thick glasses.

"Well, sit down, then, Jacob. We can't be here all day."

Jay mumbled an apology and looked around the class for an empty seat. He found one next to the quiet girl, Janet. He walked over, slowly, and tucked his bag beneath the desk, as quietly and gently as possible. He got out his notepad, and started taking notes from what was written on the blackboard. When he had got up to speed on the notes, he looked to his right, away from Janet, who was to his left, by the window. He focussed on a corner of the blackboard where the paint was coming away and the wood was showing through. It was very interesting. He went back to the notes, not really knowing what to add, but doodling a picture anyway. His doodle turned into a mini character. He added a bandanna, a leather jacket and black leather boots with stripy tights. It looked exactly like a chibi Red. He shook his head a bit and scribbled a few more doodles.

Melody(sorry, less confusing if I tell you shes Janet,Melody is a nickname but you'll find more later why) had looked at Jays paper for a second and just looked back down at her paper. She had pulled out a blank piece of paper earlier and had started drawing a waterfall. Every now and then she would add notes to her paper as the teacher was talking and then just went back to drawing. She had spoken quietly but loud enough for Jay to hear, "So are you paying attention to this guy? Or you just off somewhere else too."

Jay looked round at her. "Not really." He said, quietly. "It's worth getting a few notes, but you can tell when he's rambling." He looked at her notepad. "Nice waterfall."

Melody looked at the teacher then back at Jay, "Yeah well I kinda quit paying attention all together. Most of this is rant. And thanks." She looked back up at the board and saw more notes and wrote them down and then went back to drawing while loosing attention in the teachers words again.

Jay finished off another picture. This time of a temple. He was surprised to hear the bell ring when it did, but happy all the same. Happy, that was, until he remembered that it was Fluent Language Studies (English, but they're not English, so that). And it was with Red. He had barely stood up when she was at the door, trying to push her way in as the rest of the class was coming out. He turned to Janet. "Uhh, hey Janet, what lesson do you have now?"

Melody had just put her stuff away and put her backpack on, "Um, Fluent Language Studies. Why?" She looked over at the doorway and saw Red pushing her way through and shook her head.

"Would you mind--?"

Red fought her way through and stood before them. She glanced at Janet quickly, not speaking to her at all, and then grabbed Jay and marched off with him. Jay just had time to grab his bag as he was swept away. He didn't see any sign of the new boy.

"So, where's the new guy?" He asked, as he was taken to his lesson.

"Oh, he was too good, wasn't he? Top level again. He's doing Mathematics now."

Jay smiled. He must have managed to make an escape. That said, he was surprised Red hadn't just followed him and sat in his lesson. perhaps she got chucked out or something. When they entered the class, Red engineered him into a seat, and sat next to him, throwing an arm over his shoulder. He sighed, and rubbed his armpit which she had practically lifted him by. Janet probably entered about a minute later. He sighed again.
