Yep, I am a fan of SNES games(why else would I have so many ROMs on my comp?)...Earthbound was no exception. As one of the most underrated RPGs of its time, it gets ALOT of love now, since people are giving it another try(..on emus?)..

Ah, yes. RPGs were mainly based off of Medival Times, eh? (Juan: Yuh huh! *SHOT* ) Well, this one went in a different direction. It focused on present time, in America...Pretty normal...until animals develop a serious case of rabies(...I'M KIDDING!), and aliens want to take over the world. Oooh, Sci-Fi!

You play the role as Ness, a normal teenage boy who would GLADLY smash an enemy out of his face with his trusty Baseball Bat, along with his Yo-Yo. 3 other Protagonists are Paula, a pretty, blonde girl with a deadly Fryin' Pan(where Kuro's Fryin' Pan gag had come to mind), Jeff, a shy genius who can make bazookas, and Poo(p), the Prince of a place called Dalaam, who doesn't like Western Food all that much. Ness, Paula, and Poo can use Psychokinetic Powers(PSI, or is now known as PK) to heal alies, beat the living tar out of enemies, and..um...stuff. Jeff doesn't have PSI abilities, but he makes up for it in major firepower. (BAZOOOKAAAAZZZZ)

Personally, I have yet to complete this game...and yet, I'm pretty fasinated with it. Runaway Dogs. A Band that claims they have 5 people, but they have 6. A Taxi that actually wants to KILL YOU. And....um....people obbessed with the color blue. In a VERY BAD WAY. MR. SATURNS!(Boing!) It's pretty sad how some people cannot see the fun in this game..(and it has tons of witty comments, too...)

What scares me the most was being ambused(RED SWIRL OF DOOM, FREAKY MUSIC...)...Yes, I do get spooked easily. Also, some music sounds pretty wierd, so I tend to turn off the speakers(or keep my headphones off my head)...I cruised over to Starmen.net(your source for Earthbound-related things), took a peek at the forums, and saw that someone was terribly spooked by Giygas....(Never got to him, since I never completed the game, but hey...I get scared even when I'm warned about such!)

So, if you're patient, wait for EB to come out for the Virtual Console for the Wii. Or, if you're not, go ahead and download the ROM(and correct emu, if you don't have it)...

As for me....Ness shall SMAAAAAAASH through a window and FLY! And I shall wait for a translation of Mother 3(Earthbound 2 for the GBA, which was never released in the US....Japan only..I intend on fetching a ROM once the translation's done.)...
