Welcome to Age of Prophesies!

Age of Prophesies is an original Free Form Medieval Role Playing experience set within an alternate world upon the continent of Tian. Here writers, artists, and gamers play by posting stories over the message board and immersing themselves in a unique world; assuming the roles of heroes and villains as they explore, enter into politics, battle their enemies, quest, and adventure all whilst collaboratively telling a story. Age of Prophesies is like writing a collaborative tale with participants from throughout the world; each member writes about his or her character and the experience is mediated by impartial volunteer moderators who help narrate epic tales of romance, mystery, violence, and intrigue.

Role Playing Games typically feature elements of storytelling and make-believe, whereby participants ("players") create fictitious persona ("characters") and then post to tell stories about those characters, maintaining a summary record of their characters' possessions, knowledge, skills, and abilities (in a "charactersheet").

As with any role playing game, there are challenges and obstacles that characters face, either in the game world or against one another. When these conflicts or exchanges occur, moderation helps resolve the situation and the moderator determines what is and what is not possible depending upon the situation and what players tell him. Moderation typically occurs in threads where combat, interaction, or a change in your character's knowledge, skills, abilities, or possessions transpires.

How to Begin?
First, you will want to register an account and create your character. Think carefully about the type of character you would like to create; there are two major types of characters in AoP: the first is a Ruler and the second is a Citizen. Rulers are as the type describes itself, they rule. They are the leaders of a Kingdom and their actions reflect upon that Kingdom. The Citizen is the normal person; if your not looking someone who is always in the spot light, and who is looked to for guidance from tens of thousands of people, then the citizen is the way to go. It may be helpful to browse the General Information section of the site and get a feeling for the backstories, legends and myths behind Age of Prophesies. Once you have created your character (and Kingdom if you’re a Ruler), you can begin posting and playing.

Once you have posted a new thread describing your home, posted replies to other threads to meet and interact with other characters, and once you have begun to flesh out your character's goals and ambitions, you can begin telling stories about your character by leading him off in anyway you wish; exploration, setting her on an adventure, or improving your character's knowledge, skills, abilities, and possessions.
