Maybe he was the last to find out. None of us know what is in his mind. He has a strict Baptist background and doubt they would "approve" of anyone being gay so this was likely in his upbringing/mindset. The tragedy is that people even care. I'll bet he still sings just as well as he did before. I have no problem with anyone who is gay and feel it is their own decision whether to discuss it or not. He put up with a lot of crap from buttinskis with inappropriate questions these past 5 years or so. He apparently decided to talk about it on his own terms at his own time.

He came out to his family almost five years ago...I mean..most of us just kinda went "Ok..and?" LOL Like we did with Lance Bass, Ellen Degeneres, Danny Pintauro and Neil Patrick Harris.

I was just reading that Clay said he was raised to believe that homosexuality was a choice a person made, so he thought it was a phase he was going through. When he moved to LA, he met people who were gay and OK with it which gave him another perspective. He says he told his mother 4 years ago and she still has her struggles with it.

Too many people and groups have this erroneous view of homosexuality (being a choice). It's not a choice; it's just who you are. it's too bad Clay had to struggle with this misinformation so long. I wish Clay all good things as he moves forward.

IMO, I feel that he should have just come clean in the beginning. What is the big deal religion or not he is what he is and the more he didn't answer the more he kept people determined to find out. Oh well, the media has to move on to something else now.

Like Lindsay Lohan maybe? She just spolied all their fun by admitting that she is dating that lady DJ she has been running around with.

Yeah except THATS for total show..Even Rosie O'Donnell and Ellen Degeneres done want her in the Lesbian Club...but she has had "man issues" so..thats where the lesbian relationship comes in

But here's MY belief...I see that a lot of women become lesbians because of either..bad relationships with men (fathers, uncles, grandfathers, ex-boyfriends etc) or they were sexually abused by a man somewhere down the line.

Gay men just seem to be BORN that way. Most of my gay friends have NEVER had relationships with women go bad, or relationships with them at all! They weren't sexually abused or mistreated either. And ironically, a LOT of them have a TON of older brothers (See the study where the more boys in a family the more likely the youngest one will be gay do to the mother's lack of testosterone left in her system. To be read as: I dont think Ace is gay simply because he has 4 older brothers, however I bet if Mama and Papa Young went for Baby 6 HE probably WOULD have been gay..haha but Baby #4 certainly did suck up a TON of testosterone didnt he?)


I go with the Margaret Cho way of thinking: we are ALL born bisexual, but some of us are more inclined or more intuned to lean one way or the other.
