Where are you from:Canada
Age:15

How Did you find out about us:RPG-D
Have You Read The Rules. All of the Rules:The Emperor must've used a lot of skin lotion

Your Character

Name:Damon Nightingale

Alias:Darkstar

Gender:Male

Species:Human

Age:31

Alignment:Empire in Exile

Rank:Squadron Leader

Occupation:Imperial Pilot

Weapon:
[x1] <SE-14C blaster pistol>

Ship:
[x1] <Predator-class Starfighter>

Personality:Damon is a strong-minded person. The type who keeps to themself, but isn't shy or reclusive in the slightest. Being a squadron leader, Damon knows how to deal with others, as long as they are aware of their duties and what is expected of them. Although young when compared to others in the military, he is the not the most imposing person, although his quiet nature could sometimes give off the impression that he has a dark past - which isn't untrue. He is confident in his skills as a pilot, and doesn't hold back the slightest. He lives for piloting, and is aware of where he sits in the Imperial army, although he believes he should be higher.

Although a good shot, he is aware of his limits, and will quickly back down in a battle if it is taken to a ground level, where he does not have access to his starfighter, or some other vehicle. He is not a coward, but knows that losing his life is not worth attempting a fight that he knows he can not win. This, however, does not mean he will drop to his knees and beg for mercy at the sight of a jedi or sith. If taken prisoner, you can guarantee he will try with every ounce of life in him to find a way to escape, and get back to his true loyalty; the Empire-in-Exile.

As a squadron leader, Damon is not a strict one. He expects his men to be aware of what their duties are, and expects them to follow his lead. If this does not happen, he will not go chasing them down until they obey. As far as he is concerned, those who don't obey him are going to get blown out of the air, while those who do are going to live. He isn't one to go back for a "man down", as he naturally does not become attatched to his men, or most people for that matter. All that matters to him is getting the job done efficiently and effectively, and getting the rewards and recognition he is owed.

Face:Damon has always managed to keep a clean, youthful look to his face; despite the many hours of combat he has seen. Taking mostly after his father, Damon has very sharp facial features. His narrow jaw, prominent cheekbones, and narrow cheeks are all examples of this. He doesn't have the slightest trace of any sort of facial hair, which further adds to the youthful look. He has fair skin, which doesn't appear to have any additional birth marks or freckles. Damon has straight black hair, which he keeps at medium length (about down to his eyebrows). He has dark eyebrows, which intesify his indigo-coloured eyes.

Bio:

The Birth of an Ace (107 - 117 ABY)

Damon was born on Coruscant, to a family who served the Galactic Alliance. Both his mother and father were high ranking officers within the military, therefore exposing a young Damon to the art of warfare right from a young age. He was an only child, and rarely ever saw any other family outside of his mother and father. He'd occasionaly see relatives from his mother's side, but never once from his father's. Although curious, he never once had the time to ask; his parents were too busy with their occupations.

Childhood ran rather smoothly for Damon. Though not shy, Damon would often keep to himself, having been used to being alone due to both parents frequently leaving him alone. Because of this, Damon managed to avoid making many friends, which would later help him not become attatched to fellow soldiers. With military being the only thing he heard about, it was natural that a young boy would take such a fascination in it. He seemed attatched to space combat and starfighters, and because of this, his father would often allow him to accompany him in his starfighter, while making sure to lecture him on all the parts and functions. Damon would often read tales of famous heroes over time who had achieved amazing goals in space combat, such as Luke Skywalker; the Rebel hero, Han Solo; the notorious smuggler, Nym; the infamous space pirate, and some heroes even dating back to the Invasion of Naboo, such as the N-1 Starfighter pilot Rhys Dallows. With all of these stories in mind, and all of the parental influence: Damon, at the age of 10, had already been convinced to join the military of the Galactic Alliance.

A Change in Course (118 - 127)

As Damon grew into his teens, his need to be a pilot grew stronger. Still not yet eligable to join the military, he began looking for ways to satisfy his ever growing passion for flying. Not having his parents supervising his every move, and no friends to tell him otherwise, Damon looked toward illegal activities such as races. Stealing his parent's Veltiss-2 airspeeder, he began to enter it into underground races, competing against racers much older and brutal than himself. However, after losing a few races, and nearly dying in a few, he quickly became accustomed to the brutal flying conditions that the busy traffic of Coruscant threw at him. With eager intent on becoming a pro level pilot, he quickly became a worthy match for the scum of Coruscant to race against, all the while his parents had no idea about his 'need for speed'.

Of course, all great things come to an end. It wasn't long before the criminals of Coruscant began to realize that this teenager was beating them and making them look bad. When racing angered street scum, one could only assume they'd eventually play some dirty tricks, some of which include sabotage. During a high-speed race through the heavy traffic of Coruscant, Damon's controls suddenly locked, and he was left with no control. It could've only been karma that was responsible for sending him in a straight path toward a Police BARC speder. Luckily, his vehicle was much bigger than the BARC speeder, and was not too awfully damaged. On top of that, the impact brought his speeder to a complete halt, putting an end to the uncontrolable mess. Unfortunately, the police droid had been completely destroyed in the event. He was immediately brought to his parents, and he ended up having to spend most of his winnings from his time as an underground racer on the fine issued to him.

After his parents discovered that he had been secretly participating in underground races, his mother was furious, and banned him from operating any sort of speeder. His father, however, seemed more impressed that he had been winning all these races, and of his knowledge of piloting at such a young age. His father began to secretly train him in the use of a starfighter, with his mother unaware, and the Galactic Alliance unaware that he was 'borrowing' one of their starcrafts to do so. Damon realized that his father was acting strange, although at this point, he was just glad to be doing what he loved to do.

What Damon didn't realize, was this his father was an Imperial spy, and had been ever since before marrying his mother. Damon only knew this when his father came home one night, unusually late, and covered in blood; his cover had been blown, and a gunfight had ensued, nearly costing him his life. Walking in through the front door, his first action was shooting his own wife with a blaster pistol, not killing her but wounding her badly. With law enforcement on his tail, he quickly explained to Damon who he was, and that all that was important was getting out of here. He told his son that all of this training he had endured in secret was for this very moment, and that now all of that was going to count for something. Influenced by his father's words, Damon escorted his injured father to an unmanned freighter and took off into space, setting route for Bastion, by his father's request.

When Damon and his father landed in Bastion, their first destination was an Imperial settlement where his father's wounds were treated. Damon had not yet gotten over the fact that his father had been an Imperial all this time; someone he had always thought to be the enemy. His views on life were quickly being changed as he began to adapt to life as an Imperial. Damon had now realized that the only thing that saved him from being shot by his father, was the fact that he showed promise as a pilot, and would serve well under the Empire. Damon took time to consider his options before chosing whether or not he'd persue the path his father had laid out for him. Although he had been tricked and manipulated by his father, he really had no other choice. If he were to steal a starfighter and escape back to Coruscant, he would only be thrown in prison, as he was now a fugitive. His chances of ever joining the Galactic Alliance were now gone, and if he ever wanted to be a pilot, it seemed as if his only option would be to serve the Empire.

Damon signed up for the Imperial Academy when he was 17, studying to join the Imperial Navy under the Starfighter Corps. Studying went well for Damon, as his reclusive nature kept with him, allowing him to properly train and study without distraction. He kept less and less contact with his father, still feeling hurt and betrayed from before. His father had taught him all he knew, and Damon no longer needed him. The only place he could learn from now was the Academy. During his time at the academy, Damon was not prepared for the brutal physical and psychological tests that would be endured in order to become a TIE pilot. The one thing Damon never understood, was how all of the cadets he was training with bought into the idea of being 'expendable'. He didn't want to be some unnamed pilot, ready to die for the Empire. No, he believed that his skills would make him a great pilot someday; a known pilot throughout the galaxy. As much as it was pushed on them, this was the one thing that Damon could just never believe.

When it was time to fly the courses, this was when Damon really shined. With years of experience behind him, Damon navigated these courses like they were nothing; flying far more superior than anyone else. His superior officers and trainers noticed this, and allowed him to graduate a year early, where he was moved to the Starfigher Corps branch, where he was to pursue a position as a TIE figher even further. In this branch of the academy, his performance was no different. His instructors were just as impressed with him as the others, and realized that Damon showed true promise as an Imperial pilot. Within a year, Damon had successfully graduated as a Flight Officer of the Imperial Starfighter Corps.

The Sith-Imperial War(127-130)

Damon could have never predicted that the year he was drafted into the starfigher Corps, a war would abrupt. Hearing news of this war, Damon only saw it as a chance to prove himself a superior pilot to the rest. The men he flew with, to him, for the most part, seemed like brainwashed Imperials, with no sense of self value. Damon felt as if he were the only one who had come out of training with his mind still in tact. Knowing he would shine among the rest, Damon served in the sith-Imperial war. Being of the lowest rank, Damon did not serve in any of the battles during the beginning and middle of the war; only seeing action toward the very end.

Damon flew in one of the most important battles during the Sith-Imperial War; The Battle of Caamas. Damon fought among the Imperial Fleet, flying under the command of his squadron leader. Being his first real space battle, Damon was unsure of what to expect. Not to his surprise, the Alliance was quickly being decimated, and his involvement was definitely a factor of this. Damon almost instantly became an ace, managing to shoot down 5 enemy crafts only moments into the battle, due to a cluster of them his squad had managed to take by surprise. However, as well as

things were going for the battle, an unfortunate event led to his Squadron Leader being hit by a proton torpeo head on. With no leader, Damon instinctively took lead, without having any authority to do so. If this squadron was going to survive, Damon figured he would be the one to make that happen; none of the other mindless pilots would do.

Leading for the first time, Damon impressively proved skill in the task, and managed to rank as a "double ace" by the end of the battle. After the battle had ended, Damon was met by his superior officers and promoted to a Flight Lieutenant, for the achievement of a double ace, as well as taking initiative and successfully leading his squadron to safety, without ever having done so. In addition to this, he was informed that he'd be put in a new squad for the next battle: The Massacre at Ossus. Damon served in this massacre, being among the many predator-class fighters in the battle, including one of the ones chasing Cade Skywalker near the end of the battle; Damon himself witnessing the explosion of his starfighter.

True Loyalty (137 ABY)

After the Sith-Imperial War, Darth Krayt had taken the Imperial throne from Emperor Fel. Damon, not wanting to change factions once more, decided on remaining loyal to Fel. In his Predator-class starfighter, Damon left for Bastion, where he assumed Imperial duties, having heard rumour of Fel returning there once again to obtain what was his. When Roan Fel finally returned to Bastion, Damon was of the first to rejoin the ranks of the Empire-in-Exile, being promoted immediately to Squadron Leader due to both the fact that his significance in combat had been recognized, as well as the fact that the Empire-in-Exile's numbers were relatively weak, and there was a demand for pilots at the time. Damon was made leader of the new "Dark Squadron", with him assuming the codename of "Darkstar" for himself, finally ridding of the generic ID Code he had once been known by; further distinguishing himself from other pilots. Only being 30 years of age, and still generally new to the military, Damon's service to the Empire is long from over, and only time will tell where the future of the Empire will take him.
