Role-Playing RulesGeneral1) Keep your posts long and descriptive. Try to refrain from posting short one liners.
2) Members are allowed up to two different accounts on AKT. Along with those you can have 2 NPC's for each account. However the account and the npc's
must be in the
same faction.
4) Morphing is not allowed unless your species allows it.
5) You keep your inventory in your signature and you update it yourself.
6) Your character can be in multiple places at once as long as the storys don't interwine.
7) Players are limited to mastering 2 force skills and being intermediate in one. This is like a Signature Skill, not the standard force powers. Players may also be of intermediate level in a third skill. This is to stop any character becoming over powered.
8) No scientific experiment can make a person learn things such as: Sorcery, deep dark side knowledge, or deep light side knowledge.
9) Although there is such thing as midichlorian transfer. It will not increase the connection to the force at all.
10) Pay careful attention which side a given planet you are on is aligned. If said planet is aligned with your faction you may 'close' a topic for personal reasons. However, if on a planet controlled by another faction, and a member of said faction feels it necessary to step in because you may/may not be exploiting the closed nature, said member can freely enter a topic in a logical manner. If the Sith hold Coruscant, a Jedi cannot assume that by making a closed topic he will have free reign to do whatever he wants without fear of reprisal.
Weapons & Spacecraft / Vehicles1) No legendary lightsabers will be allowed on the website. This includes black, white, silver, gold, etc.
2) There are starter weapons and spaceships that you start the role-play with, you get these when your create your characters profile.
3) There will be no weapons, or armors that increase the connection to the force of any kind, or that give the user special abilities and skills. Unless all the Admins agree upon it.
Requesting / Obtaining ItemsIn order to obtain items you can either purchase them from a shop or you can role-play getting them and request it in the Report Center.
Step-by-Step for requesting an item you obtained in a role-play.
1) Role-play getting it.
2) At the end of the role-play put Request: then what you request from the role-play.
3) Copy the link to the topic.
4) Go to the Report Center
5) Post a topic with the link to your topic and what you would like.
6) Wait for an Rpg Admin to approve or disapprove it, once you get it approved add what was approved to your signature.
BattlingIf both parties do not agree to the duel it will never take place, however if they both reply to it the battle will start and you wont be able to back out of it. If you dont want to battle say something in OOC to indicate you dont want to.
IF THE DEFENDER HASN'T REPLIED WITHIN THREE DAYS WITHOUT A VALID REASON AND NOTICE, THEY ARE LEFT AT THEIR OPPONENT'S MERCY (Try to avoid death blows, as for all we know this person may have temporarily lost internet).Have you Read the Rules Option in the Profile: Just put "The Emperor must of used alot of skin lotion."Classing upThis is intended for the neutral faction. How good you are depends on your class, the lowest and what you start out at first is Class 0. You'll eventually be able to class yourself up and the higher the class the better of a reputation you will have. To class up find how many successful jobs you've done as your occupation and post what you need in the report center.
Class 0 - 0 Jobs
Class 1 - 2 Jobs
Class 2 - 5 Jobs
Class 3 - 7 Jobs
Class 4 - 10 Jobs
The numbers do
not go up from the previous one. So if you are going from Class 2 to Class 3 you'll need to get 5 more jobs done as your occupation. They do not carry over.
God ModdingPower Gaming - This God-Mode is perhaps the most obvious of any of them. It is the use of massively overpowered abilities, or abilities used over unrealistic timespans. It can be split into the following:
- Overpowered Abilities - An Overpowered Ability is exactly what it sounds like; an ability with far too much power. It can also be doing a task far beyond the physical or mental capabilities of your character. These are generally abilities that are nearly, if not impossible to survive if targeted by one.
- Global-Scale Abilities - This form of power gaming involves abilities that affect a rediculously large area, such as wiping out all life on a planet, or creating cloud cover over its entire surface.
- Invulnerability - This form of PGing is the use of a character that is never hit by attacks, or never affected by them when they hit. It is essentially the use of a God, and let's face it; everyone runs out of luck eventually.
Omnescense - This God-Mode is essentially the mental side of the Power Game. It involves a character possessing more knowledge than they have obtained ICly. Omnescense can be split into these groups:
- OOC Knowledge - Out of Character/Context knowledge is knowledge that the rper may have, but the character does not. An example would be: <<You are fighting a character yours has never fought before. You look at his character sheet, and discover the character has an irrational fear of pork products. Conveniently, your character is carrying two raw hams when the time comes to fight.>>. That example is a bit off the wall, but certain sets of things should not be mixed; one of them is IC and OOC knowledge.
- Mind Reading - Your character does not hear other peoples thoughts (well, they might, but they shouldn't). Things posted as thought should not be used as IC knowledge. For example, if Jack thinks about treachery, don't have your character yell "TRAITOR!" and jump at him, as s/he doesn't know that the other character is thinking about treachery.
- Farsight - When another character is halfway across the Galaxy, chances are, you don't know what's happening to them. If they are in trouble, try to avoid immediately jumping into action to go save the day, as there isn't really a basis for it. As stated above, keep OOC and IC knowledge seperate.
Out-of-Character ExamplesPut your out-of-character text at the bottom of your post and put it in parenthesis or brackets or something to indicate you are talking out-of-character. Even putting OOC: at the bottom before your out-of-character text will work.
WRONG WAY
Slays lightsaber dived towards his foes lightsaber who raised his in enough time to block it. Hey, how should we end this battle?
CORRECT WAY
Slays lightsaber dived towards his foes lightsaber who raised his in enough time to block it.
(Hey, how should we end this battle?)
Multiple Places ExampleRole-play 1: You get a lightsaber in this role-play and it gets accepted
Role-play 2: You are not allowed to use the lightsaber you got in role-play 1.
